TeamKill - How to forgive

IIRC punishing for TKs does nothing but add +1 to your "punished TKs" counter. Thats where the serverscript can kick in. It does nothing else, because the Tkiller looses his points the moment he TKs. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I doubt this is different in PR. So I forgive all the time, except if I know for sure (e.g. he steps up to me and shoots me in the face) that he tk'ed me on purpose. Especially nice if this happens on one of our own servers (= !b)

I've told this one before, I'll tell it again. Almost got hit by a car trying to cross an intersection and all I could think was "PAGE DOWN! PAGE DOWN!" as a ran to save my life.
If he had hit me, I guess I would have taken the time to flip him the bird and call him names as well.
The horror just hit me! What if I had glitched on the curb? Would the paramedic know that he should throw an object at me first, to "unglitch" me? What if I was killed? Man, I would have to sit this one out! Definite "page down".
It's annoying as heck, but it happens. And it's a friggin' game.

I punish for intentional and stupid teamkills mostly. And if I get a TK from mines it annoys me quite alot. Not hard to see are they? And in the case that they are, I mean, I can´t exactly help it? Watch out for mines? Unless of course it is placed in a stupid place...
Also, there is nothing I hate more than coming round a corner face to face with a friendly, who promptly crouches, takes aim, pauses, shoots, and the says sorry over and over again. Accidental yes, but...?

Anyone who punishes others for anything but disruptive anti social deliberate TK's needs their heads seeing to. It really puts the social awareness problem on you and doesn't do anything for the long term playability of the game.
Just laugh about it and make jokes at the TKers expense (within reason)
My "sorry" remarks go from using the commo rose function, to typing or saying "oops" to the ones for people who got themselves killed stupidly (running over obvious mines or running in front of my vehicle which is driving in a straight line down the road whilst honking the horn (in my best indian shopkeeper accent) "thankyou, come again!"

What about when a blue guy has an enemy weapon and starts shooting at you, and missing and you return fire and kill him and he punishes instantly.

A lot of truth is said, no doubt...
As a sniper (when I can be one in PR) I rarely commit TK, only because I like to wait for that perfect shoot... If by any chance I do commit it (via grenade) I`ll say I`m sorry and hope for the best. The only problem is, players rarely take in consideration in which TK happened, that`s where the problem occurs... Instant punish, no matter if I apologized or not, PG DOWN is immanent...
However, if I am the target of a very stupid and intentional TK, I follow the second procedure in orderly fashion...
NOTICE:Use at your own responsibility...
STEP 1 - Locate the immature imbecile via mini map...
STEP 2 - Approach the immature imbecile in a friendly tone...
STEP 3 - Take out your knife, or preferably, the shovel aka "skullcracker"...
STEP 4 - Gently beat the living sh*t out of the TK-r so he will never, and I mean never even consider firing before identifying his target...
PARENTAL CONTROL: Mentioned punishment is to be used only, and I mean ONLY in video games, as the results of this punishment in real life can conclude with serious injuries and create a mess in the location the procedure is taking place...

Usually the same situation with me. Half the time I am the only one on my team with the balls to do what needs to be done (ie: move to the next capture point swiftly even against difficult odds). So when you TK me, it's like TKing my whole squad, and when my squad is the only one doing anything useful on the team....-=TB=-Tobakfromcuba wrote:being the only SL assaulting river fort and getting shot when finally inside by one of the 26 blue guys in charlie 6 is worth punishing, if you call me harsh or not.

so you judge what TK was accidental or noobish? i mean it is very hard sometimes when you come around a corner unless you played this mod for long time. i die alot because i try to make sure it not friendly.Alex6714 wrote:I punish for intentional and stupid teamkills mostly. I had 3 TKs in about 2 minutes tonight on AoM and after the third one I started bitching on VIOP only to find out it was a new guy who thinking 'nilla style and saw them but thought he could drive over them.
I did feel bad and told the guy ( a squadmate ) that it was OK because he just started the mod and was still using 'nilla reflexes.

I still Team Kill now and then and if people punish me i accept it and i normally make sure to write "Sry!", except though, when my "Team Kill" is the result of a driver not being able to spot that/those mine/s i dropped in the middle of that road.
That kind of "Team Kill" is just...well, wish the DEV team somehow could make it possible for a mine to go into "NO TK-MODE" x minutes after it has been dropped.

Define irony. A bunch of guys playing PR year after year. A game teaching initiative as the prime mover.
However, in regard to EA, these guys never took the initiative.

Your implying that I always punish for accidentals. In fact I punish very rarely. But if I come round a corner, and slowly walk past someone while looking at them, only to get shot in the back after I am back....JustMe wrote:so you judge what TK was accidental or noobish? i mean it is very hard sometimes when you come around a corner unless you played this mod for long time. i die alot because i try to make sure it not friendly.

Granted, this doesn´t happen much, so I don´t often punish, but I guess it is hard to say what I punish for, as I have to asses each teamkll.

I am a b*tch.
If I accidentally TK somebody as a medic (It happens, your running in a close combat areas, somebody pop up, you shoot them out of reflex) I apologise, and run up to revive them (and I will sit until they are full health), but if they throw a "TK punish" in my face, I leave them.
