please give the insurgents VARIETY

to better reflect the disorganization and crudeness of the insurgent faction i really think they need to have all theyre gear, clothes, and vehicles more randomized. heres my suggestions:

1 :p lease please please bring back all the old insurgent skins from version .5!! the insurgents all look the same now! i miss the old ski mask grenadier {that was my favorite ;) } the old war veteran, all of them please bring them back!

2:can you randomize the color of the spawn cars/ suicide cars? like instead of just red you can have a red, white, blue etc as well as the bikes

3. there was a thread about bringing back the rpk, thats a great idea. but please dont replace the PKM with it, just add it in there for weapon variety.

4: can you bring back the AK101 with grenade launcher too? maybe as a pickup kit?

+1 To the suggestions for having different outfits/uniform & vehicle colors.

But currently I think the weapons are ok, the pickup kits are sufficient enough... and if you really want a special kit, get lucky picking up a cool kit from an allied player. I just think that there needs to be a better variety with the types of kits we spawn as. And there DEFINITELY needs to be a suicide man dressed up as a civilian (but looks a slight bit more fat around the waist :D ).

I think there should be more weapon variety. The AKS74u should be more common in my opinion. RPD's are fairly common as are all vintage russian weaponry.

i was trying to suggest things that are already available to the DEVS such as the old skins and AK101 since they would be easiest to implement.

but yes i very much agree on RPDs and AKSU74s {although i dont know how prolific AKSU74s are to the insurgents in real life}but they would have to be made from scratch so its not as easy a suggestion to implement.

The ski mask spec ops officer from 0.5 will most likely not return. Though you will mostly likely see them as the opposing forces in the IDF community mod (https://www.realitymod.com/forum/hamas-t28723.html, look for the player models in there). About the AK-101 with the grenade launcher, squad leaders can request them at ammo caches and spawn cars. Though, they shouldn't be a pick up kit...

Ya, more randomize skin for the insurgents:
Each time you die, you choose your class,
The game randomizes face, shoes, shirt and pants (each individualy)
And each time you would get a completely new guy
Civilians would stay the same.

why woudlnt anyone want the ski mask insurgent to return? hes badass! the more skins for the insurgents, the more they look like real insurgents imo

I see no prob. with the current INS. except that I think the War Vet. guy should have that MEC Special Forces skin again,that'd be awesome,and he'd have an AK-101.Or he could keep the weapons he has,I'd just like to see that skin on him again.

P.S. That screen of the Challenger II suggests to me it'll be in Basrah,cuz in the screens it is...But then again what do I know... :)

I know that Eve of Destruction has created the RPD, and USI has a very nice AKS74u model created, hint hint :lol: .

1: Good idea but how will it be implemented without causing tons of lag?

2: Agree but maybe you could recolor them? As the devs are busy with other things.

3: Well the Rpk-74 is nearly identical to the Rpk-47.

4: Insurgent Officer has Ak101 Grenadier. Just go SL have 4 guys and request it.

the game does not allow Randomise of the skin
It is predefined
IF you make the civilian Green, every one will be green, unless you place on the respaw screen 2 civilians with diferent collors
and there is a limit to 7 classes on the respaw screen
In theory we could have 7 diferent skins for one faction
Also, when you change kit's your skin will still be the same, only the kit geometry will change

What could be donne to add variety would be more pickup kit's with diferent rifles instead of the ak

maybe the insurgents could have more roles, maybe a hybrid class?

like sentry, would have alot of sprint
Purpose: Spot for IEDs, call out enemy armor to jihad/RPG teams, light infantry

-AK
-Binos
-grapple?

Civilian Doctor (worth less intel for coalition forces)
Purpose: medic/ non combatant
-medkit
-plenty of field dressings
-rocks

Civilian Mechanic (worth alot of intel, a mechanic would know the locations of roadblocks/ caches as he most likely build them himself)
Purpose: engineer (repairs vehicles builds assets such as roadblocks / non combatant
-wrench
-rock
-field dressing
-shovel

Arms dealer (very little sprint, weighed down with ammo)
Purpose: ammo/ support unit
-several bags of ammo
-AK
-grenades

just some ideas...

all of these classes would supplement the regular insurgent class, whilst providing a pretty unique class base.

Nice idea DarkTalon,but that's a lot like v0.5 INS. but they can't fight,I like that idea lots though. :D

I assume if there's no way of randomising skins, there's no way of randomising weapons either?

If you guys payed attention in 0.5 there were 4 different models for insurgent faction: MEinsurgent_light_soldier (the one with the white shirt), MEinsurgent_heavy_soldier (blue shirt and some sort of vest) , MEC_heavy_soldier (war vet with G3) and MECSF_heavy_soldier (specops with AK101 + GL). In 0.6 there are only 2 models left: the insurgent lihgt and heavy model + the new civilian. To have more variety in skins you would have to clone the model (light or heavy) and make a new skin for it so it would look different from the other 2 that are already there even though the model itself stays the same. This adds more MBs to the Objects_client.zip and you don't really get much in return if we are talking about gameplay but it's not really a problem to do it.
And it is also possible to give insurgents 7 spawnable kits and keep 4 kits for conventional army. The question is if the devs agree with this.

Like BF:Vietnam? i pretty sure its hardcoded just like the whole black/white guy problem. Each class gets its own skin as far as I know and it sticks to that... right?

more or less... i really dont mind them looking alike, its just like any other faction/army in PR or BF2...

Each indivdually like you asked is most surely hardcoded

yeah it should also give them some real "poppin fresh" shoes like the cives should get some gator boots or temberlands maybe even bathinapes =)

Would having a couple different random AKs be possible? It'd be neat to randomly spawn with the old 47, an AKS, AKM, maybe give AK74s and AKS74Us stats closer to the M4. (Due to the 5.45mm round). Not really very important, but it'd be a nice touch. :D

maybe use the BF2 unlock function?
(without requiring a rank)

or would that only work on ranked servers?
