[Question] Model on Model?

Post by ALPHA-WOLF »

Just wondering if any modelers out there could give me info on this?

Is it possible to have a static soldier model fixed within the humvee model, not Ai or controlled by player, it would just be another moving part of the humvee model, just sat there with face movement etc?

Just think it would be nice to add to a plane loading ramp or a medic humvee etc

"Model on Model"

heh heh... I was almost worried going into this thread. That would be really neat to get implemented at the bases, assuming the a animation buildup doesnt slow pc's down... but it would make the bases look more functional with crews and stuff...

And it doesnt have to be a lot either. A guy or two at a bomb rack, a guy next to a static "working" on it... could add a lot of immersion

Interesting idea but the effort will outweigh the benefits I think. Also these NPCs will be bulletproof which would look silly when you shoot them in the face.

If you have the max scene of the player models already it aint to hard, but to crate a new player model and it just wouldn't be worth it IMO.

Even having a guy up in the control tower or something would be nice... but I really dont think this is needed, but it would give it more life to the base as opposed to just the troops going out to fight, leaving the base empty..

and who cares if someone shoots them in the face and they dont die? how many people will shoot them in the face and THEN get upset that they dont die? SCREW THEM! haha... thats not their purpose lol

I was thinking of it for the new night map being developed for the ruskies (can't remember whose again) where they have to jump from the carrier plane (think they're setting it as a static way up high) just thought it would be nice to have a crew man stood at the door waving the troops out (would be nice if it was all set in a flood of red lighting too).

But yeah so many other possibilities ;)

very good idea with the people in the control tower. I like that alot, and it would bring some realism to the enviroment :)
