It's not outside the realm of possibility, but I think it sort of throws off the immersion factor. The militia group in PR is apparently dubbed as "the worlds worse arms dealer" equipped with mostly WW2 weapons and some old soviet hardware. Having them suddenly flying around in helicopters doesn't quite fit their persona.
A "mercenaries" faction I could see using helicopters (Not PMCs/PSCs). Basically some soldiers of fortune looking for a buck, since they receive payments for their tasks, it doesn't seem unlikely they could get their hands on some more advanced military hardware and equipment.

Ok here is what a militia means-
Militia- a body of citizens enrolled for military service, and called out periodically for drill but serving full time only in emergencies.
2. a body of citizen soldiers as distinguished from professional soldiers.
3. all able-bodied males considered by law eligible for military service.
4. a body of citizens organized in a paramilitary group and typically regarding themselves as defenders of individual rights against the presumed interference of the federal government.
There now iam thinking its a way for the devs to tell us something about the futrue of the Faction.

Then you heard wrong.HughJass wrote:also i heard militia is getting hind. and these guys are probably some war veterans or something so one of them should know how to pilot.
Why the hell would the militia ever get a helo? It just makes no sense that they could afford something like that regardless if it was just old Russian equipment. Besides, militia are supposed to be infantry oriented.

Before when i was considering making my own Iraqi Police faction, I wanted them to be like Militia to some extent but more like Insurgent to another. I had this idea for a news chopper, It would only hold 2 people, 1 Pilot and 1 Cameraman who right clicks to a tv missle like screen which sends the data real time to the commander in his command post. Needless to say it was impossible for me to do with no coding skills and noone wanted to help me with modeling etc.
So yeah If Militia will get aircrafts i hope they will recon only Cessna Planes or Choppers but without the Live feed because it's Hard coded on a level past Fastropes, Main Weapon only swapping, And 6+ squads.(Although it should'nt be hard coded as some people say that in Alpha before Ea's Butchering of Bf2, Dice managed to get 8 man squads working but not stable)

Why not? These guys can get massive ak-47 shipments cheap, eryxs, bmps. They can find at least 1 chopper and the hind has been around along time and many versions came out, so once the new verwsion came out the old one was discarded somewhere by the russian military.BetterDeadThanRed wrote:Then you heard wrong.

bascially, it will be overall equal if they have a weaker, worse technology chopper. like no tv guided missles, worse controls, slower, and possbily weaker.

Who said anything about an "AirForce"agentscar wrote:Well,it's rare that militia have an airforce, most militia are like the militia on PR,
all they need is a plane, and a pilot who would relay what he saw to the CO, no one has even talked about given the planes any weapons,
but give them a small chopper, no guns.

Thank you Flud Bud... you posted the proof that I was going to show the non-believers.
We're not even talking COMBAT AIRCRAFT. A Helicopter with an LMG or maybe even without!
Plus they are easy enough to steal if you know what you're doing.
Fields upon Fields of un-used MIG-21's in Romania (great article from a good aircraft magazine)

Heheheh, we should get them in game and make their engines sound like old lawnmowers ala Team America
. There are plenty of reasons for militia forces to get some form(s) of aircraft from time to time though, I'd be nice if we had more then 2 insurgent forces in game so we can go to town with the shitty old Soviet technology.
By the way; good call on the Theakstons and the Black Sheep! (among the other fine bitters and ales you've depicted)

I think is a good Idea because what faster to transport you load of arms a chopper or a plane vs some trucks anyway I think the plane and chopper will be less conspicuous then some trucks moving out of a suspected arms base.
Also instead of having the piolet have all the power give him a co-piolet who can either drop some morter roundes or nads as their flying. IT promotes mor teamwork and thats what we like.
