al basrah airport issue?
was playing on battlearena server and noticed a disturbing trend. Insurgents were running motorcycles (with mines on them?) into the airport and detonating the entire lineup of apcs parked there. i mean all 4 or 5 at once.
I thought you couldn't enter the airport as insurgent? did that change or are they exploiting the speed of the motorcycle to get that far in?
I'm pretty ssure the devs would think this is violating the spirit of the game.
Anybody else? pretty aggravating,

I can't speak for how the devs want the map to be played, although:
IMO in a conventional vs. conventional army map this would not be allowed. But I'd assume that in RL insurgents would use these tactics if they could.
Al Basrah doesn't have a checkpoint on the road with roadblocks and barbwaire for no reason. It is a defensive position. If you don't want this to happen maybe station 2 or 3 guys there to defend the Airport.

its cheap as hell, but its counterable, 1 apc or even a gun mounted on a car parked near to the apcs can perfectly protect the apcs from bikes and suicide cars.
1 player, but hell... should being forced to defend an uncap be part of the maps design?
I mean being forced to defend vcp is cheap enough as it is, once surgents cap that and dig in with c4 and explosives the brits are screwd, sure the squad leaders cant respawn locally, but heres the thing, if the squad leaders cower in the bunkers and their teammates motlov spam?

When insurgents rush VCP in the beginning they either die right away or take the flag. If they get killed at a high rate right away, then the Brits can get some intel to start with. I've played both sides and won on both sides so it can be done either way if everybody works together to do the same thing.
I don't think using the "death scooter" is wrong, either. It's set up so that the insurgents can get through to airport that way for a reason so the Brits have to protect their assets at the airport & not get lazy at their base. The Brits can go to the Palace and blow up the insurgent vehicles if they want to, turn about is fair play.

To the Op that used to be such a problem on .5 but now with the 10 second bleed time insurgents that do get past the gate after all the swirving to avoid the barriers die on their bikes, The ones that do it succesfully are rare.(I've only done it once before and that was with an Apc that left the parking lot) I do know a guy who mastered it in .5 though, I remember that on Dev file i was in a squad with him as his trigger man, In 5 minutes we crippled their entire air support.
