devs...mods....cons?
we gonna do this..
i think currently it takes like .1 seconds to raise your scope.
it should be more like .75 to 1 full second to do it.

lol. I dont think MOD should be in that, probably not even CON.pasfreak wrote:devs...mods....cons?

Find out how to do it, code it. Find a way to do it quickly for all of weapons, THEN contact a DEV with it is my suggestion
I'm serious. If you can get it set up for them, they'll be more likely to consider implementing it/taking a look, since they are so busy with other things for .7. It was done for the SAW, so maybe if a DEV can tell you how that was done, someone whos not a DEV could do it?
But, I can't say anything about if they even want this done... so, I guess you're right, it would be nice to have a dev say something before you even put time into it

yeah
i would but i have no clue how to code and i don't really have time for it either. i can see how the live of a dev is stressful
but my original line of thinking was that if it was done for the saw it could be done for all weapons
it would probably just take some animating which is not always the easiest to do...but it could be done.
i guess we'll wait and see?
honestly tho...i don't think even a u.s. marine can raise his scope as fast as in game lol

no offense okita but this is a suggestion forum, we dont really look for replys that say "do it by your self because so and so is too busy doing stuff"
i mean dude, this friggen mod is built off the community, so dont backhand the community like this by saying to do it our selfs, we are just suggesting, and many also are agreeing to the suggestion.

Yeah, but the dev's are really busy on important stuff for .7, so it'd be nice if the community could make 'already finished' suggestions, the devs can just put into their next release.HughJass wrote:no offense okita but this is a suggestion forum, we dont really look for replys that say "do it by your self because so and so is too busy doing stuff"

And honestly, I put it nicer than you might have gotten from a DEV.
You said it yourself right there.i mean dude, this friggen mod is built off the community, so dont backhand the community like this by saying to do it our selfs, we are just suggesting, and many also are agreeing to the suggestion.
Theres a whole community mod section devoted to making new factions, materials, weapons, etc with the hopes that the DEV team will implement their work. That right there shows you that there are people who are going out and doing their own work, while not even 100% sure the DEV's will take what they make...

I know two members of the team have already replied, but I just had to add.HughJass wrote:no offense okita but this is a suggestion forum, we dont really look for replys that say "do it by your self because so and so is too busy doing stuff"

This is a suggestion forum. What that means is that members of the development team are looking for members of the community to place new suggestions forward so that the team can consider them based upon the:
- Idea's merits
- Idea's feasibility
- Team's workload
- Team's desired goals for the mod
Project Reality has a limited manpower. Every new idea and suggestion put forward, no matter how meritous, will take time and effort to get into the mod - and that's time that the team will have to take from other elements of the project.
With that in mind, community members posting in the suggestions forum have no explicit right to demand a reply from an [R-DEV] - what would you rather they do? If a DEV has two hours free tonight, would you rather he crack on with the coding/modelling/scripting/mapping he's already got underway that will help get 0.7 onto our hard drives quickly, or would you prefer he spend two hours examining every post in the suggestions subsection of the forum looking for good ideas.
I don't mean to rant, but seriously, if you have a really really great idea that you think would benefit the mod enormously - then go ahead, learn the skills needed to make it happen. It's how *everyone* with an [R-DEV] tag started out.
If you don't have the time to commit to learning something like coding or mapping, fine - but do you have the time to look for some other forum members (or even people from outside the PR community) who do have the skills and the time? You could assemble a small team - particular animators, as PR desperately needs some more good animators - and contribute massively to the Community Modding section.
Please, don't look on this as a rant - I'm trying to explain clearly why it is that you're more likely to get told "Great idea - why don't you make it happen?" than "Great idea - we'll start working immediately" in this section of the forums.

Brilliant IDEA and most realistic ! I LIKE IT.pasfreak wrote:I think the actual raising up to your sights should be slower, like it is in the support weapons now.
it should take about one to one and a half seconds to get your sights centered, this would help end the insta headshot wtfpwn problem PR is plagued with.

We arent being ********. And if we are, you are being an equal *******, perhaps even more so by not taking the steps to implement something yourself and merely wishing the DEVs do it for you when you already acknowledge they are busy.HughJass wrote:yeah yeah all the jazz wall of text im just saying dont be ******** (pardon me) and say do it your self, when obviously not many people have the ability.
If you dont have the ability, get it. Work hard, learn it. Dont have the time? Now you see what it'd be like to be a DEV. You think Rhino was born with his 1337 mapping skillz? Ok, bad example, but most aren't...

you see, i am perfectly fine with this post.[R-DEV]Jaymz wrote:there's so many things on the animation list it's ridiculous and our animator is a busy chap...
like i've said before, all i care about is a little bit o feedback. if they say they aint got the time or manpower, so be it. if they say they wont implement it, so be it, and if they can, then thats rad.
but what i hate to see is threads with any sort of suggestion that seems relevant and has lots of positive feedback get unnoticed and sink into the depths of the archives.
because when you repost it, everyone just says "already suggested" and the original suggestion gets passed up.

lol. wow. I'm done. I'm only saying you'd be rude using your standards of an "*******." It works both ways. You just see it how you want, and that'll be ok. We're (how many con's and dev's have posted now?) just saying go ahead and suggest, but dont expect DEVs to come running to each thread w/ the best idea since fastropes. And if you really want something done, learn it, and:HughJass wrote:i dont see how im doing being rude, i only have a problem with you saying: "do it your selfs" when we are just suggesting......you are taking this a bit too far and trying to insult me i suppose.......
Do it yourself.
No. When things got suggested 20 times in 2005, the DEV's looked into them, noted them, and then after receiving more in 2006, and 2007, they decided in order to stop the incoming bombardment of identical suggestions, they would make an already suggested suggestions thread.because when you repost it, everyone just says "already suggested" and the original suggestion gets passed up.
And half the time, people dont read it before submitting an idea. Im not saying anyone in this thread.
But, Talk about slap in the (DEV's) face...
Trust me when I tell you that your suggestions and the suggestions of those who came before you have been noted.
I'm not replying in here anymore. I'm dropping it here.
