A video about the Apache that might prove useful
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UOIsDJsH ... ed&search=[/youtube]
In this video you see the 3 main armaments of the AH-64 "apache". The 30mm machine gun, the hydra rockets, and the ATGMs. Notice in this video the sounds of the weapons and the rate of fire. In-game the 30mm sounds more like a machine gun than a cannon. The rate of fire is also unrealistic. The 30mm in game should be slowed down, given larger splash damage, and a more realistic sound. The hydra rockets also sound different and I'm sure the rate of fire is fine for now. The ATGMs are my main concern. When firing you see in this video that a "lock box" appears that the missile has found a target and is ready to fire. Also the camera doesnt follow the missile. In reality the missile locks on and hits. So many times have i seen people fire right as they see the target, this creates frustration for the target who has just been eliminated. If the Apache would have to spend a few seconds locking a target it would give the vehivcle a chance to either evade, fire back, or escape (leaving the vehicle and running). These would make the game so much better and much more enjoiable. I hope you like the video.

LOL
I can't remember who but some DEV said "We can't just pull assets out of our a$$"
dont you think they would if they could? Its not easy coding and stuff
BF2 wont really allow that option of the locking on system , unless you have that lockon system you have for the A-10 ...
Idk about the Rate of fire of the cannon and the Sound but I'm sure they, DEV's, are working on that..
p.s. this goes in feedback thread or w/e

[R-MOD]BloodBane611:"Romagnolo, you definitely deserve a LOL award for that."

Another Apache video. You can hear rate of fire (30 mm cannon).

...Yes, I know. Youtube sound sucks.

During the 1st Gulf War I had some POW Iraqi's who would litterly cower in fear when an A-10 came by. They called it the "Devil's Cross." I found one that spoke pretty good english and asked him why, he told me "F-16 come, drop bomb, go away. F-18, drop bomb and goes away. A-10 drops bomb, comes back, shoots rocket, comes back, shooted gun, comes back until nobody left alive."HughJass wrote:the only thing that scares me as insurgent is the vroooooom of that a 10.....brrrrrr
I still think the A-10 cannon was the inspiration for the sound of the tripods in War of the Worlds.

Isn't that about the third or fourth time you've posted that story, Cow?

Except they experienced it for real. Of course, so did some Marines and a few Brits too, by the end of the war everyone with vehicles cringed when an A-10 was in the neighborhood.[R-MOD]Thunder wrote:sounds like those POW's read Tom Clansey's "Red storm Rising"
