NOOB Alert!!

Post by LordSquiffy »

Hi everyone.

Ok, I'm new here. I'm a reasonable proficient BF2142 and BF2v player, but not surprisingly I'm feeling VERY out of my depth in PR. So, just a short message to ask you all to be nice to me until I find my feet.

I won't go out of my way to cause you problems, and sorry if I keep dying from shots that seem to be unfeasibly far away to me. I will improve....I promise :-)

All the best,

Lord Squiffy

welcome, im still outta depth :D

this is kinda hard in a way to switch from vanilla cause u have to slow down , watch, look before you move. vanilla is just....well ....arcade.
& remember tanks zoom very far, so if you see one 600M or long ways off, beware he can spot you if you can see him

Welcome Squiffi, don't feel shy telling your Squad mates your new to the mod and asking for direct advice. PR players have heart. The word noob is rarely used by us and only applies to serious smacktards.

Personally I'd much rather have a conscientious recruit on my six then a "hot-dog" roaming ahead of me and giving my Squad away by firing at any enemy that moves.

^^^seems like that one & the "spawn in apc while moving will get you killed if you dont switch seats, & jumping from a building only to find out you have no parachute , & your saying "WTF" all i do is die..........

that was my experiences anyway when i first downloaded this mod. i got so aggravated i uninstalled it, a few more weeks of vanilla & i said "i gotta learn that mod, this vanilla stinks". LOL

I tell ya truth, i allmost uninstalle bf2 i got so irritated with the arcadeness & all the stat whores who only play for k/d ratio , & wouldnt help teammate if their real life depended on it. i mean the c4 jumping , bunnhopping, all that to me is bullshat. sorry i know alot like it & im just saying for me its not good. if you like it more power to ya :)

Ensure your system meets or exceeds the minimum specifications to play Battlefield 2 (see below)

My thoughts exactly, JustMe. You try and play BF2 in the "spirit" of the game and some idiot starts bouncing up and down in front of you so you can't shoot him. Then he kills you with a single pistol to the knee from 600m cos of his aimbot.

Thats why I got fed up with vanilla and 2142.

I tried Armed Assault for about 10 minutes and uninstalled that straight away. Really glad I found the feel of BF2 with proper gameplay here at PR. Well done design team.

Things are improving....I managed to survive 5 whole minutes this morning before I got creamed from another completely unknown direction.
