Longer re-spawn time for not beign in a squad?

Post by ryan d ale »

Based on the 'Squad Incentives' thread I just thought about the complete opposite.

Longer re-spawns for those not in a squad!

What do you say?

No. What if all 9 squads are either full or locked? Or you get kicked from squad right before you die?

On 64 man servers you can only have 5 squads that are full and a squad with 2.
(5x6=30+2=32) So there should never be an excuse not to join a squad. Unless a few drift off and form padlocked small squads, which I have never yet seen a scenario where you can't get in a squad at all.
So for me yes I think its a good idea. I generally only play on servers where you have to squad up or get kicked (thors etc) as it is always a better game when there are no 'lone rangers'.

9 x 6 = more than maximum players per side.

People locking squads SHOULDN'T be too much of an issue with the number of squads available. Only if your playing with a bunch of complete ******* should this be the case (unless your doing private clan-training or small-scale pub training or something useful).

Getting kicked from the squad... you shouldn't be getting kicked unless your unwanted really (no mic, no support, lone wolfing, no attempt at chat..because at least if there's an attempt we know you're trying to tell us something - even if we don't understand it) it's rare that you'll get kicked to make room for a certain individual.

A good idea but a squad bug would mess some stuff up...

I hate to spoil everyones party...or my own BUT

Who REALLY wants to play when you can't be in squads or are stuck in your own previous squad?

I don't know why you wouldn't join a squad in the first place... So yeah, they're should be incentives for people to join squads.

in my opinion this wouldn't do anything to decrease the amount of lone wolfs. Some servers already kick if you aren't in a squad, but in my opinion that doesn't really help either.
Then you just have people making random squads and no one is communicating with eachother.

And more importantly there is already a big incentive for being in a squad. Limited kits. And I think we all know that most of the people like to get some special kits, so therefore even if they have no intention to play as a squad they will join a squad to try and get some kit.
