Sea Hawk
Can someone please replace the Carier stationed Black Hawks with a sea hawk as it would be more realistic and easier to land.

the tail wheel has been moved from the end of the tail boom to the rear of the fusalage so it is easier to sand on carriers also sea hawks are armed with an asortment of anti ship missiles and arms the landing gear setup also alows landing on tight spaces like roof's

Easier landing on carriers, maybe, but easier landing on destroyers, cruisers and frigates, certainly. It also is forward so that the tail boom can fold for easier storage on the flight deck and in the hangar deck.Hitperson wrote:the tail wheel has been moved from the end of the tail boom to the rear of the fusalage so it is easier to sand on carriers also sea hawks are armed with an asortment of anti ship missiles and arms the landing gear setup also alows landing on tight spaces like roof's
All of the upgraded Seahawks are also capable of using Hellfire missiles for ground attack as well as anti-surface warfare.
The Seahawk in-game is allegedly an HH-60H Seahawk, which is not operated by the Marines, and bears only a superficial resemblance to the actual aircraft. The actual HH-60H is the US Navy's CSAR and special warfare (i.e. SEAL) support helicopter, capable of carrying Hellfire missiles for surface/ground attack, but it cannot carry the ESSS "stub wings" shown on EAs "Seahawk."

Yes and no. The USMC does not operate the Blackhawk or Seahawk in the utility helicopter role. The only Blackhawks in their inventory are the VH-60Ns used for what is known as "Special Air Mission," or executive transport (the President and others). See photo below:Rhino wrote:The USMC Marines Use the Black Hawk, there is no need to put the Sea Hawk in BF2.

However, the Marines do get transported by the helicopters of other services, including US Army Blackhawks, USAF Pavehawks and US Navy Seahawks when the situation calls for it, as it did in Monrovia, Liberia a while back. The photo is USMC FAST Company Marines being transported by USAF Pavehawk.

There may be quite a bit of interservice rivalry and pool-pissing, but each service is there to help the other when required since they're on the same team. Except perhaps at the service academy sporting events.

Marines still use the most current versions of the UH-1, the CH-53D Sea Stallion and CH-46 Sea Knight.

Images Respectivley.
I think the V-22 will start to phase some if not all of these out though.
As Eddie said. The USMC doesn't operate the BlackHawk Helo series. They just catch lifts on USAF ones.

I'de rather see the BH taken out and the UH-1Y added in for the USMC.

Long Lived the Huey!!
Seriously though, if it boils down to what's realistic and what's not. The USMC uses the UH-1Y more than any of their other helicopters.
That and the CH-46 Sea Knight as well as the CH-53D Sea Stallion. (as mentioned above)

The V-22 will be phasing out the CH-46E Sea Knights (aka "Frogs") and CH-53D Sea Stallion medium lift helicopters in the Marine Corps if it passes its operational evaluation aboard the USS Bataan. Their heavy lift component will remain the territory of the CH-53E Super Stallion.
The UH-1Y is not yet in service, either, so not sure about including it in the mod. The UH-1N would be more likely to be included as the utility helicopter on maps where the USMC is represented.
