The Ladders as Teleporters!

Post by $kelet0r »

So as usual, the British team is useless at defending VCP and the insurgency has captured it.
I aim to take position on the road facing north on top of a bunker to watch the river crossing.

On the ladder, I'm treated to a vista of a roof on a multi-storey building with a great view of the sea.

I finish climbing the ladder only to find myself back in VCP :(

Hehe, glad I'm not the only one that call them teleporters. Well, I call them "portals" for short. But yeah, I noticed this when a commander creates a bunker. Like when you go on the ladder, it will send you over to somewhere else, like a camera/spy thing. When I first found this, I was thinking to myself "Now you're thinking with Portals!"

I had this bug on lots of ladders. Quite annoying, because just i had this problem last time, everyone in my squad climb the ladder without any problems but i hade allways this teleporte/beam/portal thing.

One of the iGi clan reported this issue a while back and provided me with a video of it ages ago. His system was real low spec and repeated attempts to get the bug to work again didn't appear (just two of us in server, just him on own when discovered the bug) we couldn't figure out what was causing it apart from a bugged PR build download or conflict with individual systems.

It happened to me on Fools road and I thought I was stuck in a ladder at train depot. I didn't know what happened.
Then on Al Kufrah, the next map.
I climbed the ladder in storage,
just to be tele-ported to a ladder in Refinery on a tanker truck,
then when I finished climbing the truck at a wierd rate,
I was on the building in storage .
Blew my mind.... 3 other squadmates did it, too.
I watched the others do it and they disappeared on the ladder, and teleported on the map.
Then re-appeared.
Weird.....
