Whats so special about the pick up snipers?
I was playing mestia as militia when a brit sniper ran at me with his pistol like a mad man, I killed him and picked up his kit. To my suprise he had an M82, this shocked me mainly because I didnt think there was one on mestia. Anyways I started using the rifle and I didnt really like using it, yeah Ill give it the fact that for the most part it was one shot one kill but it wasnt very special compared to all the other sniper rifles in game, so why does every one make such a big deal about it?

it maeks such c00l 1337 noies
(read: it makes such a loud noise, that every enemy in 300m area will be very keen on knifing you)
I don't get it. I personally found only the one on 7 gates (by accident - was looking for a spot for rally) and I didn't even bother with picking it up. I never found any other because I never actually tried to find them.

I really think the pickup sniper option is unrealistic.
there should be a training option in singleplayer mode dedicated to training snipers- when you graduate the course, you can use a sniper kit in game. (including the pickup kits)
it should be really hard.

Uzi's man Uzi's! Thats the only reason i pick up the m82 anymore, Sure the ability to make your enemies bleed to death with one shot to the chest is nice but eh i dont care that much just drive me on a motor bike and i'll take down more british trucks then anyone else can with rpg's! Although as insurgent the double zoom level is nice compared to the mosin.

'[DVB wrote: Avalon.ca;517475']on maps like 7 gates, i suspect that it is a british ploy to distract the PLA team so they abandon the river fort to search for the this holy grail like item. so that the invading brits will capture it with in the first 5 mins of game time.
just a theory.
Yeah, every time on 7 Gates, the entire PLA team goes to that spot and waits for GB to capture the Outpost, since that CP spawns it.
I was on Mestia and had it, too, for some reason I couldn't kill some people wit hit (shooting over a collision mesh?) and had a British sniper hunting me down, saw him on the end screen, when round ended, lol
I had like 5 kills and 2 deaths; one was a TK and the other, when the original owner of the M95 naded me (the c*nts should NOT have hand grenades). I managed to kill him in the 2nd attempt.

M82 Eastereggs, they are toys for the devs who move it every update (sometimes) and reward for the players who have explored the map enough to find them.
But yes I stick to my kit, it is a pain since it can only be used when lying down.
The cool factor is as some said, "OMFG I r teh only1."
They are actually on quite a few maps.

Any sniper kit I find on the ground, be it requested or otherwise, I leave it be. Why? I hope to use it as an image for other players to realize their kit is more important than their "Close quarters one shot tool." Even if it does have a really nice sidearm. The only times I ever get marksman or sniper kits is when my squad leader orders me to get one.
The only behavior I observe in people that do not know how to use sniper rifles is that they hope to use it to get the most kills. Probably as an example to their team saying "I R TEH BEST MAN!" The rifle's long range capabilities make them feel "safe" which they believe this range will allow them to make the kills. True PR snipers more than likely know these weaknesses and take care in picking targets.
I've observed this behavior on America's Army, PR, even Desert Combat. This is my current conclusion sniper happy players who pick up the kit for their own use rather than for the benefit of the squad.

When I have the M95 on Mestia I tend to cover areas which tend to not be covered normally. For instance, If my squad is defending West Tower, I position myself south, overlooking the bunker itself. I don't shoot often as I only have 10 rounds and I am too busy spotting all the Brits running up to the flag. If one of them stays still long enough to guarantee a kill or manages to get up to the top tower where it is hard for my squaddies to attack, I take the shot. After a few shots I get more ammo and relocate. Here endeth the lesson.
