Noticed in the test list page that the C4 now has a 5 second delay.
Whilst it was huge fun, clearly it wasn't realistic to see US, Chinese and Brit troops jihading themselves all over the place.
But as for the taliban and milita classes, I thought a new requestable kit for those armies could be a jihad class. Basically a guy with no gun, but a huge load of explosive strapped to his chest.
Probably not very PC, but still think it would be good in replacement of the instant detonation of C4.

For future reference, Jihad just simply means holy war, not "Im gonna strap 3kgs of semtex to my chest and screem Allahu Akbar!, shortly before laying waste to the surrounding 30meters".:iGi:. Greg wrote:Noticed in the test list page that the C4 now has a 5 second delay.

So basically anyone trying to: "defend their land/religion in the name of Islam" is committing a Jihad. Its just blowing yourself up is an effective way of causing harm to your opponents and bringing about a publicity storm for your cause.
Well, im no expert but i'd say a suicide bomber is not as common as say a simple insurgent with his brother's AK. To make it a base kit as such wouldn't be a good representation of that and can quite easily be abused in numbers.
Maybe a request kit of about 1 kit for 16 players per side and below and 2kits for 17 and above per side. Perhaps baring more resemblance to a civi than the rest of the classes, to add an element of ambiguity and a hidden danger.
Will you risk arresting the civi? Or will you get 5ft from him and he blows you and himself up? Obviously, there would be slight differences in appearance so that it is distinguishable.
I think what'd be a slightly higher priority than this kit would be a variety of Civi appearances. Having all of them wearing green shirts and a pair of red nike 90s is a bit odd
Not to mention that (IRRC, some maps are set in Afghanistan, against the Tali-B?) insurgents in Afghanistan are different in attire to their Iraqi counterparts.

If it's a pick up kit, then the other team can pick it up and use it. Now how realistic is that?
I'd make it an Insurgent requestable kit from main base and spawn cars, like the Officer kit.

You get 60 seconds for suiciding, so I think, that's enough.Fligsnurt wrote:Just a thought, if the kit was to be added, I think that a requestible kit would be nice. But as far as insurgents go, you can't request kits so why not a pick up kit, maybe one or two on a map. Also to add a rarity of the suiciders, make the respawn of the kit a bit lengthy?

Does the main issue leads back to the misconception between C4 and AT mine and IEDs? If that is so, and the ambusher kit would have its bombs modelled in the next update, then the suicide bomber stuff with the cars and bombs are pretty much covered I think.
