ok was reading the USI stuff and it says there is a beacon that infantry have that can allow Planes and helies to(at lest how I enterprited it) lock on to vehicle's. So since it is a BSS mod same as PR why can we use it and or modify it so that the soflam shoots this marker at a target so planes can lock on with GBU's
So for messiness I am tired and I just wanted to post be4 some 1 else!
look under ****New Gameplay elements**** Click here
For you who are idiots and cant follow directions:
****New Gameplay elements****
smoke for tanks now breaks a lock from anti tank missiles
transmitter weapon is used to mark vehicles or statics so that jets and helicopters can get a lock
artillery smoke marker shows up on minimap for teammates to see and can be used to lock onto by helicopters or jets
fired artillery can be seen on minimap by both teams so you can track where you are shooting/hitting
removed the ability to exit from the pilot position of heavy transport helicopters. The reason is to keep pilots from bailing on a full helicopter.
Jets now have the option to turn off their missiles and engage only with machine guns in order to avoid the lock warning
PS They have EJOD desert to?

heat signature 2007 ?, the laser designator has been suggested and disgussed several times before, please post in an existing thread instead of making a new one + Use the search function it works great
I will explain shortly, there's a specific way the PR-Team wants the laser designators to work so i belive that we're not gonna see a Laser designator untill they have either figured it out or ? i dont know

From the link given about the USI mod, I'm very confused. What era are they going for? Realism is NOT their strong point, it's quite weak. Weapons and vehicles are scattered through various time frames, completely inconsistent.
I could keep on going down that list, just keeps getting worse and worse. I haven't seen the mod, and after reading that I don't want to. Not to say the models look bad or anything, since I haven't seen them. But the whole mess of things doesn't have any realism at all because it mixes about 3 decades of equipment.
As for the transmitter they listed, TLD's have very specific roles and shouldn't be made available to just any grunt. They should also not be in place until they are working properly and have been tested well. So far it sounds like PR is waiting to implement them until they have a solid purpose other than just lasing something. If artillery is implemented, they can be used for copperhead guidance. If realistic LGB's are implemented, they can be used for that purpose. Until then, they would not serve their realistic use.
For reference, another use of TLD's is to lase a target for an Apache, which can recieve the target info and fire the missiles around obstacles without exposing itself to enemy fire, yet still able to get an armored kill. Without laser-guided ATGM's on helos though, or a better guidance tracking, this might not ever be seen in this game. Hellfires have both top-down and straight-on targetting modes, probably not possible to implement that here either.
The sheridan hasn't been used for quite some time, why would we still be using that in a modern warfare game? Same with the M109A3, these things are Vietnam-era. Yet the M270 is a modern system, doesn't fit in with the rest.****New Vehicles****
US LAND
M551A1 (Sheridan) Light tank
M109A3 (Howitzer) Self-propelled artillery
M270 (MLRS) Mobile rocket artillery
M35A2 (Deuce and a Half) Troop transport truck
The XM177E2 was the prototype variant of the M4 during Vietnam. We haven't used it since. Plus the attachment on the front was NOT a suppressor, it was an extended flash-hider. And there is no such thing as an M14A1 Sniper rifle. The M14 converted for sniping is called the M21, big difference there.****New weapons****
US
XM177E2 (CAR-15 Commando) Assault rifle w/silencer
M9 Bayonet
M14A1 Sniper rifle
M19 Mine
Transmitter homing device
Artillery smoke marker

there heat sig is not something you "shoot", its like a sticky bit of C4 that you stick to a object... IMO it kinda makes the whole thing usless if you need to walk upto a object, shuve the heat sig on it and run away, you might as well shove C4 on it if you are that close and blow it up... If you look at thous topics we state the problems you have with shooting a heat sig from a SOFLAM.GR34 wrote:I am not suggesting a "lazer designator read my dam post. Also please guys can you stop suggesting things from other BSS mods, all the PR devs are well aware whats in them and alot of us have tested out the beta versions of other BSS mods long before release. We also do talk our problems over with each other to try and come up with solutions but we do not need being told what is in other BSS mods..... thanks.
