Ver 7 Rally Points-limit re spawn

Search = no results so here are my thoughts.

Apparently APC and SL's are to be removed as spawn points in Ver .07 so I'm assuming Rally Points will be the primary squad spawning point(other than the main base).This is fine as it allows the SL to then become an active combatant rather than having to hide safely so his squad can keep spawning on him.

Why not (if at all possible) limit the number of respawns each Rally Point can supply (say 15 or 20). This does away with the endless waves of reinfocements coming at you during a fire fight. After the maximum has been reached one would respawn only at the main base and either hoof it or wait for transport. SL's could also spawn on a RP (they don't vanish with the SL's death)

To avoid any abuse , limit the time between setting RP's. i.e a SL can only set a RP every 10/15 minutes or so.

Just some thoughts...

we considered this already but it turns out really gamey.. for a couple reasons...

1. you have to count the spawns in the squad or something...yeah maybe but..

2. only allow the SL to spawn on it and all others spawn on the SL...i guess if SL spawn is gone BUT...

i dont think it will be as big of a problem now that there will be far fewer spawn locations...but we will see..

I do agree that endless waves of re-enforcements off a rally on certain maps... like mestia... get a bit annoying, and at times rallies seem to need a limiting.

The part I disagree about your suggestion is the rally staying so SL can spawn on it, but players who choose to spawn on it are returned to main base.

Id just like something more straightforward, I don't want the game to lie to me!

On the other hand, the great part of the idea to me is the limiting how OFTEN you can make a rally - so when your rally is taken out theres a sense of "OH ****" and you have to re-flank into a said area.

Now that would be nice

It's 3 minutes now right? 10 would do that methinks. I rarely see "you cannot deploy an RP so soon" messages, at least 10 mins gives the team a chance to hunt it down and destroy it.

Or if you're feeling really cruel, 10 minute wait AFTER the last one was destroyed :)

I don't really see the problem with endless waves of enemies coming from their rally point. You kill a guy and he is gone for at least a minute. And there are only 6 guys who can use that rally point.

It's not that hard to hunt down an enemy rally point. That is if you actually manage to kill the enemy before they kill you.

^^ Agreed with mammikoura. No extended time before deploying another RP is needed.

Plus, in 0.7 we'll probably be left with other than main bases, there will be only RPs, SLs, and commander assets to spawn at. No more zergy "driving a truck/APC in a ditch and having 20 people respawn out of it like mad"

Outlawz aren't you in the .7 beta, I saw some thread moved from there to "public PR discussion" by a mod... something about suicide jackets.

GET HIM HE KNOWS TOO MUCH ( Beats on him for tester secrets :mrgreen: )

I hope we "probably" don't see that APC/Truck spawning as you mentioned...
emphasis on probably!

I still think it is a bit spammy when instantly after a rally is down, and a squad has their SL hiding in some bushes, and PRESTO another freakin rally within a minute of the first one going down.

Makes me want to go offtopic of this thread - down with SL spawn!

So the SL spawn is gonna be gone in .7? Just want a nice short clear answer, preferably a simple "Yes" so I can be sure and begin the festivities. :p

There could be more penalty for getting killed, lets say 1 minute rather than 30 seconds. Very simple way to increase your "fear of death" and decrease spawnpoint waving. Good to see APC (and truck) spawnpoint removed (if true), it just hasen't been very realistic.

Dont know... i agree to remove APC respawn point, this will prevent some noob to hide the APC and leave him alone to use him as respawn point but SL respawn i hope still because sometimes you need to this to gather your squad to put a rallypoint. Imagine the limit of 15 minutes for each RP and your RP is down and with this no more SL respawn in large maps like kashan, every time you die u go back to main and have to walk all the way back to the flag... dont know but this can push away a lot of players particularly the new ones.

I would rather see that a Officer can only put down 2/3 Rallypoints per Officerkit and Officer kits cannot be requested at Rallypoints
