Map idea

Post by Sudano68 »

Might have already been mentioned? Not sure, I didn't see it.

Ok, I am obsessed with Al Basra. The game play is so fun, and realistic. i was wondering if there was any map in the works that is similar to this map, but U.S. vs the Insurgents, just like over in Iraq. I think it would be very fun, seeing that this map and mode is so fun also. It would also be the closest thing to the war on terror in Iraq. I would be working on one right now, but the BF2 editor doesn't work with vista. :(

Jonny, there's no need to be an a*s...

He's just trying to suggest more insurgent maps.

I'm not against it, it would be fun (may be already suggested, tho).

I forgot to mention though, more of the western side of the map, the farms and small houses. I really like that setting. I need to find out if there is a way to get the editor to work on vista.

I think an oilrig would be a totally different scenario. How about something like, as a storyline, insurgants have overun and taken hold of an oilrig just off the cost of iraq. Us/brits have to take boats to base of the rig and use ropes to get up to platform, then take over and secure heli pad for the blackhawks to come in, then accomodation block, engineering workshops, drilling deck etc. To balance it, snipers could be on the coast making it real hard for insurgents to remain up top.
I think it would really make a bit of a change, as quite a bit of fighting would be indoors.
The only problem I can see is making rallypoints, as getting 100m away from a flag is going to be real hard.
Opinions?

^ I've played such a map before on an infantry vBF2 server. I don't remember its name but I surely loved that one!
