New Spawn Kit?
When Spec Ops is removed from the list of spawn kits, what will take its place? In my opinion, we need a recon-capable spawn kit with the following:
Standard Rifle (Iron Sights, 5 clips)
1 White Phosphorus Grenade (white smoke w/ Molotov Cocktail effect)
2 Smoke Grenades
1 Signal Grenade (?)
SOFLAM (currently under-used)
Grappling Hook (completely lacking in regular armies)
Body Armor
This kit would be designed for doing what Spec Ops soldiers should do, but with more capable equipment and less smacktard-attracting capability. By using the SOFLAM rangefinder and double zoom, the skilled Recon soldier can gather information and fall back to the squad; alternatively, he can actually hold his own in battle if he knows what he is doing.
However, this would be better suited for flanking and intimidating the enemy with measured automatic fire, though the scope would greatly limit the ability to lone-wolf, and the general loadout would not be quite as appealing to those Spec Ops noobs.

8 Is the field dressing. 9 is the ropeDeadfast wrote:Actually you're wrong.
Did you ever tried to press 8 as engineer on maps like 7 Gates or Hill to Hamgyong ?
You can always request the limited spec-ops kit for this![]()

I like the fact that spec ops is going to be limited kit in 0.7. I think support should be made a spawnable kit in 0.7. It's been underused since the scoped rifles have taken over the battlefield.

I love symmetry!
In my ideal world PR kits would break down like this
Spawn(full sprint) >>> Requestable (1/2 sprint) >>> Limited/Pickup (no sprint)
Rifleman (scoped) >>> Rifleman (DMR) >>> Sniper
Rifleman (ammo) >>> Rifleman (SAW) >>> HAT
Rifleman (engy) >>> Rifleman (Explosives) >>> Mortar
Rifleman (lifesaver) >>> Rifleman (LAT) >>> AA
Special Kits
Crewman
Pilot
Medic
Officer (UGL)
Spec Ops

Radical ideas, Skeletor!
If anybody wants to know more about the likely substituion of the spec ops kit:
https://www.realitymod.com/forum/specia ... 28915.html
I think the scope rifle will be alot more popular, and the ammo-grunt would be as widespread as the standard rifleman was in 0.5 compared to the grenadier. Will there be something that would attract more players to miss the scoped kit? Like three field dressing, etc? Or restricting the resuply locations in 0.7 (no resupply from enemy's vehicles or no ammo from small off-road combat vehicles at all).

If the fourth spawnable kit is a grunt with non scoped rifle could the USMC/US Army get at least an aimpoint instead of iron sights? This would also make medic kit more popular.
And could you please consider making the rifleman with acog scope a us_light_soldier with US_Rifleman kit and the non scoped rifle grunt a us_heavy_soldier with the appropriate kit? Thats actually a mapper's call but it would be still sweet IMO. The one for CQC (the one represented with non scoped rifle) should have the heavy model with distinguished heavy body armor and the regular rifleman with acog should have standard light model now when everyone has "tweaked" body armor. What do you think?

Customized armour? I missed that. W00t! Light Rifleman / Heavy Rifleman... It sounds plain and good!
I don't want to push it too hard, but I read an ancient thread about bayonets, where even the DEVs agreed that it would be a fine addition. Now that would be an awesome feature for the "heavy" grunt. Any reflections on implementing it anytime soon?

Big no to this. It's been discussed for quite some time, and having the support kit available to the masses causes more problems than anything. If you were here for some of the earlier releases when the support kit was on the spawn menu, you'd know that every player and his dog would spawn with it. They still hold an advantage in that they allow the user to put down a lot more ammunition downrange than other weapons, its only weakness is really the lack of visibility you get, giving rifleman the edge in medium to long range engagements.jayceon515 wrote:I like the fact that spec ops is going to be limited kit in 0.7.
