To my mind the problem would come in shifting the 3D, hand-held model up to eye height and seemlessly switching to photographic quality 2D shots of the ironsights - sights that won't respond to what little shifting light there is in BF2 etc.

On the other hand, as has already been said - I'm sure the DEVs can always use more reference material when it comes to accurately making the view down ironsights. More = good!

It's too bad I have sold most of my weapons off (While living in Texas, the local police weren't too fond of me owning full-auto weapons even with my permit). I had several that are used in the game now.

I am guessing that using the photos suggested would help in making more realistic ingame models, but I don't think it was intended to use those photos for the actual ingame visuals. Lighting on the images will be static, while lighting in the game is dynamic. If it was bright when you took the photo, what happens when a person uses a 2D image inside a dark structure?

If the DEV team could use more reference photos, by all means upload what you have. They make great reference, but I don't think anyone should assume they will be used directly as ingame graphics.

If you have an AK-74M, I would appreciate some photos of the sight for reference.
