Jeeps break down instead of exploding

When you drive a humvee or nanjing over bumpy terrain, they tend to take damage and explode killing everyone inside. This is totally unrealistic for a realism mod right? At the point of explosion, they should instead just break down like when the Tank loses it's tracks.

This idea has issues because of engine limitations and was already suggested in the past.
