All in all, and with a nice solid /rant, I am glad to see the removal of the 50 cal snipers for .7 :)

So with the Pickup sniper kits gone what will happen to the dual uzi's? Please tell me that they'll stay! They would be awesome on basrah as an insurgent pickup.

The day that the .50 cal rifles vanish from our screens is the day that the ratio of long-range-kill junkies to teamplayers on a 64p map moves from 14% to 12%.

Which begs the question - is it right to marginalise 2% of players for the joyful, orgasm-like state of bliss that will come into being for those of us who are sick of watching two squads' worth of blueys rush to the pickup locations?

Hell yes.

I'm not! The uzi's were the only reason i ever wanted to find the m82 on basrah. I like using them not just for drive by's but also assaulting vcp with them(Brits dont know whats coming)It's a great weapon to have as an SL because it rocks as a PDW, And well the guns are just fun to use against a group of enemies.

Fun vs. Realistic is what should be considered here. This is Project Reality, not Project Humor.

In real life any insurgent would rather wipe their *** with an Uzi than use it over an available AK variant. The Uzi is a 9mm with too high a ROF and too low in stopping power, especially lacking the effective range and ease of maintenance that the AK's have. Uzi parts are also extremely rare and once one breaks in the hands of an insurgent (which is highly probable), fixing it would be most likely impossible. Therefore having any insurgent using an Uzi would be more fit for a movie and less fit for a realism mod.

Besides, I think the original intent of the Uzi was as a close-defense weapon if you were stupid enough to let someone get close enough to use them. You're a sniper, and if you are doing your job correctly you should NEVER have to even pull out the damn things. If you want to run around playing "leet commando" with an Uzi, go play CS or some other kiddie game. Those weapons have no place in PR.

Those pickup kits are like a Thailand prostitute. Sure sounds like fun at first, but afterward it's a pain to get rid of the side effects. (Those side effects in PR are 20-40% of the server trying to find them instead of playing the game)

You're missing the bigger issue here; You wouldn't catch a Muslim using an Israeli made weapon if their life depended on it.

While it is fun to play the amazing 50. cal once in a while, it really detracts from the whole thing of team/squad play. I'd love to see it removed, but they put too much work into it, so a limited kit would make it a bit more squad friendly.

Better let the Algerians and Sudanese know that.

No, the larger issue he is missing here is that it was a fun and completely unrealistic "easter egg" that has turned into nothing but an in and out-of-game annoyance that detracts from the objectives of this mod. Show me a significant number of examples of carrying and firing in combat a machine-pistol in each hand outside of movies, videogames, YouTube videos with a some doofus showing off of at a range, or some gang trash that got their picture on the internet and maybe we'll look at it again.

Put so much work into it? Those aren't our models; the M82 was in the BF2 files, but DICE never implemented it into any classes or maps.

And now that the issue has been flogged to death and returned as a Dawn of the Dead remake turbo-zombie, I am going to lock this thread.
