Vehicle Realism

Post by 3===SPECTER===3 »

Is it just me, or are the vehicles not realistic enough?

Lets say, that im driving a HMMWV down the road on any map, and i get into an ambush. I Quickly turn around and slam into a pole/building/whatever and i back up and turn away out of ambush.

This is what usually happens currently in game. First off, if im going full speed down a road and quickly make a turn. If i was doing this in real life, with a real vehicle. Wouldn't i loose control and spin or maybe even flip the truck?

Also, Currently in game, you can accidentally drive full speed into a pole or building with either least damage or if you are already damaged, you will blow up. What im suggesting is that if you hit a building at a high speed or something, that the car recieves damage and may still be inable to drive. The people in the car are dazed and maybe some of them die/ start bleeding. Also when you hit something,I would like everyone in the car recieve that shellshock/surpression effect. It would be realistic because like any car crash, you wouldn't be able to jump out and be battle ready. Also, Cars shouldn't be blowing up when they hit something. can we make it so the worst that happens is maybe a few people die or start bleeding. The car isn't mobile then the car can later catch fire and explode.

Finally, if i was driving through an ambush, and an RPG hit next to my vehicle, wouldn't the car easilly loose control or flip and crash?

I think many of these suggestion would stop some of those drivers you see barreling down the road and going off road into ditchs and still emerging fine. They will have to be more careful to not hit anything and, Driving through ambushes or gunfire will be more challenging.

i think there should be a delay between when you hit "e" and when you actually enter/exit the vehicle.
and they should go faster on roads then on dirt.

The engine isn't complex enough for this kinda thing to be put in properly. Dunno if it's possible to make vehicles slower that have less "health", but as far as I know all they can do is the random wheel/track damage and that's about it. Beyond that it's either car drive or car dead.

Well i would love to see the vehicles get looked at and tweaked for one release. I would also like to see the hummves take more damage without blowing up. I don't know if im correct when i say this, but i thought hummves could take alot of small arms fire. In game, i dont think they take all that much before blowing up. I remember a DC mod called DCR (Desert Combat Realism). I think there was something with this mod's vehicles like it required overkill to actually blow up a tank or car. Instead they had it so you can totally take the tank out of commision and kill the crew from lets say another tank's round. But the tank it self never blew up. The tanks could still be manned but you couldn't fire or move the tank. You could take a long time to fix it so you can operate it though
