New game mode : Clean Sweep
Hey, I was reading about new game types and so and tought of one my self. it is simular to all the other ones but bare with me:
In clean sweep (CS) a puzzle type territorial system is introduced(like Terranova's). One team starts out at (im using al basrah for this example) VCP and controls all the area surrounding it. The other team holds all the puzzles (territories) in the city. Each puzzle must be capped by killing all the enemies in the area (if possible) or either destroying all the spawn points. Once done, the area is capped, and the attacking team must move on to the next one. Now there could be some puzzles that are required to be defended because if the opposing team drives 2 of their "colony" trucks in then the area belongs to them.
Well, there it was, i hope it was clear enough, and hopefully it is also possible with the engine.
Thanks!

that idea sounds similar to Insurgency'[T wrote:BludShoT;531597']One thing I like out of this idea is the destroying of something to cap an area. Might be kind of cool to play a game mode where the goal is to destroy bases (or defend them from being destroyed) instead of just capping flags.

Sounds almost identical to insurgency, only in this game mode I'm assuming the targets wouldn't be hidden?G.Drew wrote:that idea sounds similar to Insurgency
If that's the case, it'd make for pretty short rounds, as all it'd take was one lucky engineer getting through with C4, or a few grenadiers with good aim (rare on Public servers lol) supported by ATers to blow up most stuff.

Thats the thing the players have to prevent "lucky engineers" and others getting past by setting up a real perimeter and working as a team.[R-MOD]Masaq wrote:If that's the case, it'd make for pretty short rounds, as all it'd take was one lucky engineer getting through with C4, or a few grenadiers with good aim (rare on Public servers lol) supported by ATers to blow up most stuff.

I think to put it simply, this idea substitutes capping a flag with the destruction of specific targets within an area. So instead of entering a flag radius and capturing the CP, you're out trying to find hostile targets to neutralize. Overall it sounds like a hybrid between AASV2/Conquest, Objective Based Game Modes and the Territories Suggestion that reappears from time to time.

While it sounds a bit similar, it's quite different too. Insurgency plays altogether differently than say OGT. Now if OGT had bases at each flag that could be built and/or destroyed, I think OGT would play rather differently. Instead of crouching around a flag while nades fly in on you, you'd cover the area while some demo guys went in and set charges.G.Drew wrote:that idea sounds similar to Insurgency
