support helicopters
Anyone like the idea of support helicopters. Basically littlebird size with 3 seats but it should only be used to carry support ppl like engineer and medic. (i did not post this in the suggestions since im just wondering what ppl think of it)

Okay, find a real-life helicopter with JUST three passenger seats that operates in the way you suggest that's used by any of the factions we have in PR, let the team know what it is and how it's used IRL and I'm sure it'll get considered on the idea's merits and benefits to gameplay.
Until then, what's wrong with putting medics and supply guys into a LB and dropping them off at hotspots to provide extra support?
And what's wrong with posting suggestions in the suggestions forum? Just because you know/think it'll get locked it doesn't mean you should post elsewhere!
As for "surely it's been suggested before?" did you search? If not, please do. If you did, say you did! Either way, your topic leaves something to be desired.

anyways to make this thread useful....
yes, we are definitely including ways to make helicopters support the troops alot more in the next release.
helicopters will be hopefully alot more helpful/useful. right now in competitive game they are less than useful majority of the time, only initially they are useful and that is not fun for the pilots or good for gameplay.

Id love to see a chinook dropping off supply crates.... that would be realistic and it would enhance gameplay...

Couldn't you just "move" the code from the ammobag to a bigger item? such as a custom supplycrate which is "fired" from the back of a chinook? Ofcourse the reload time would be very long for this....

Or make it so that the pilots can drop one like a rally? I like the idea a lot but can it be done?
I really think having the choppers deliver ammo and supplies would enhance game play. I think to get another supply crate or something you just have to reload on the pad, but it should be a minimum of 3 or 4 minutes to get it loaded onto the chopper. Make it also so it has no chute so that you have to be at least tree top level or it will be destroyed on impact with the ground.

Oooh... A wink...[R-DEV]fuzzhead wrote:
what if we removed a bunch of the other ammo sources in game too, to make these ammo supply drops critical for the a teams success in extended assaults??
And yeah I like that Idea very much!
