WIP new stop animation.

Post by danthemanbuddy »

Alright guys, I tried to do another stop animation, but still couldn't get a battlerecorder server to make it on.

So here it goes, half finished to the music, this is what I have so far. So please put your ideas down (relevant to the current theme of the movie no off the wall suggestions).

Enjoy

I guess the thought that they are fighting in a battle doesn't go through.

Comments like these ^ make me not want to make movies again........

The map's not quite as good as the other one was - they blend into the background better, so it's harder to see the new-improved floating thing, for example. Again, doing it without the binos out would be good if poss, tho I can understand it's tricky to get a hold of a server with BR running. Keep working on it tho, it's good to see someone doing somthing different than just another chopper/tank/jet whoring vid :D

I like your work, but the first video you posted a few days ago was better in my opinion, especially the music.

Hehe I love the flying/floating scene :D

It's pretty funny to watch, but I would appreciate it to be a bit smoother, other than that: Great job :)

You know, If you type "demo.recorddemo DEMONAME" in the console without the " " and replace DEMONAME with the name of the demofile you want. it will start recording a battlerecorder file.
Once your done its important that you dont disconnect before you type "demo.stoprecording" in the console once again without the " ", If you dont, the file wont get saved and all your hard work will go to waste.

exit BF2

The file will now be saved in your Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Demos\ dir as the name you chose before, now move that file to My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\Default\demos\ restart the game and press the community tab and it should be there

No offense, but stop motion in a game just doesn't work. You can mod the game to come out with a much better effect. All that comes to mind when watching this is UPGRADE YOUR PC!

Stop motion irl, fantastic, because you see some things you don't normally expect. But in game it's not. (No clipping, low grav, model glitches ect ect)

I like the music and I never noticed the clouds drifting like that before. I think whoever voted 1 star was being a bit harsh  but it may be the idea of an artsy stop animation thing may be above the average players intelligence quotient

I like the other video you made and most should sympathise with the heal patch that wont stay still

You are trying something new here so you can always expect flak for that

For anyone who doesnt understand the idea

And a similar in game attempt done using Garrys mod which allows precise positioning

Oh now I get it, sorry if my comment was a bit harsh. I personally didn't like the music, but the video was cool :p

hmm.... when I read the title I thought you created a new animation for stopping.....
Anyways, kind of nice stop-motion you've got there, but I guess BF2 isn't suited for it..

They were Swedes; in terms of individual intelligence, integrity and single-mindedness I was to find them among the most impressive soldiers I had ever encountered. In Vares their moment had come."

I see the reference to Tony vs Paul, so I liked it, but (there is always a but) it might have been to long? You need to jazz it up a wee bit. Do more of the "spectacular" things, like they seem to leep 10 feet in the air on to rooftops to continue fighting. I also liked the fight on the bridge. That stuff works like magic!

Next time if you have a gun fight, make them put their arm more up in the air to "fake" recoil. I did however like the fact that you put in the bullits impacting on the wall.

How about you just let BR do the work, or you can just write in console "renderer_drawhud 0" and the hud is now "clean". They don't see your gun or binocs. It might draw more people into the story.

Looking forward to the next clip. GL and GJ.

I thought it was totally funny, the part where they fly in the air and fight each other kung fu style, and when they jump up the sides of the walls crouching tiger style lol.
