2 man sniper kit
to reduce lone wolf sniping and increase teamwork even with snipers we should make the sniper kit a 2 man kit spotter and sniper. The spotter vould have a soflam smoke m4 etc. I dont know if this is possible but i did search and didnt find anything.

The main problem that has been brought up is that you cannot zero scopes in the BF2 engine, they have to be preset. So taking that into account there's not too much use they can serve.
You'd have found something if you searched for "spotter" though. It's best to check the already suggested thread THEN try searching, and when you do try and check every detail of your potential threads content.

As mentioned above, this topic has been brought up and locked many times. For realism purposes I feel every sniper should have a spotter on his team. If players are using realistic sniper tactics then they should have a spotter.markonymous wrote:to reduce lone wolf sniping and increase teamwork even with snipers we should make the sniper kit a 2 man kit spotter and sniper. The problem that many have brought up though is that trying to make the sniper kit only available to 2-man squads will cause exploits and other issues. It will also have minimal reduction of the "lone wolfers" due to those exploits.
The reason to have a spotter with your sniper is both for close-range defense as well as assisting in identifying targets and determining which is a higher-value target. In order to retain realism the spotter would require an optic with a slightly higher zoom rate than the sniper's scope. This wouldn't be too difficult to do, but again I see it being a possible exploit for some.
I have also seen few people in PR using the sniper kit correctly, so I doubt we will see many people using the spotter kit realistically either. If you could make the sniper kits more challenging to use and therefore reduce the amount of people trying to request it, then maybe it would work better. But for now this is more of a wasted topic. If you want a spotter, just have a GR accompany you.
