I have a little suggestion for insurgency mode.
Is it possible to have the majority of ammo dumps only appear when sufficient Intel has been obtained by the Brits. But have a few available for both insurgent ammo and weapons & Brit searches.
For example at the start of the round there are 3 ammo dumps that can be used by the insurgents and found by searching Brits. And as the Brits collect Intel more will appear.
This will add numerous improvements to insurgent game play IMO.
What do you think and is it possible from the coding side?

So what this effectively does is reduce the number of pickup weapons the insurgents can get to, while also keeping the roaming brits from having such an easy time of winning.
It does sound like it would add some balance, and I don't think it would drastically change the way the map is played. I don't know that it's possible to code, but it seems good from a gameplay standpoint.
Chuc;538802']Are you suggesting something like caches spawning in waves and when more intel is gathered, more batches spawn?
If so, it'd be interesting to try out..
yes
Example: Round starts with one Red D ammo cache and 2 Yellow D ammo caches on the map.
Then as the round progresses and the Brits start gathering intel more ammo caches spawn, first only known to insurgents with a Yellow D, then with enough Intel they go Red. (Brits know about them as well.)

It wont be drastic.. but it will also enorage the insurgents to draw the Brits into ambushes deep in the city.. and give more purpose to the Brits capturing civilians etc.
i think it will push the game play of insurgency in the right direction, more how egg & co wanted it.
I have not looked at the details in depth, i'm sure there are several ways to do this, it more of the concept that the ammo caches only spawn when Intel is gathered.

I had an almost identical idea in another thread (after you posted this thread apparently hehe) but it has some minor differences, so I'll add my thoughts to the discussion here:
"So my idea is to have the ammo caches not even spawn until a red circle has been placed on them. That way, obviously this tactic (the tactic of GB guys searching around randomly and finding caches they don't have intel on) would be removed from the game. And you would only be able to attack caches that the INS had at least a small chance of going to defend.
To finish off this idea, I have to say it would be unfair for the insurgents to lose all their pickup kits since the caches wouldn't be showing yet (and therefore the weapons wouldn't spawn yet - and it's important that they don't! Or else the british could just search for weapons and then they would know that a ammo cache will eventually spawn there!)
So, to solve that weapon shortage, this is what you would do:
Place pickup kits at all static spawns on the map (which I believe is just the palace and a couple around near the mosque). Also, make kits requestable from mobile spawn points. Currently the SL can get a grenade launcher kit, well just allow regular troops to get other special kits."

^^ I think the insurgents should get a warning that a cache location is about to be revealed to the Brits..and it should spawn before it's location is revealed, it seems a bit harsh to only spawn it at the same time the Brits get its location.
In regards to weapons... at present insurgents get 24 pick up kits....which makes them disposable and too plentiful, at least in my eyes.
edit: but i have a feeling there might be some changes coming to this mode in 0.7 ( i hope
