Bring back this gun?

Post by blud »

I think PR should bring back this gun which was in 0.3 for sure, and 0.4 (I think), either on a particular map or 2 as a request kit, or as an easter egg pickup kit.

I think it's called the MK11??? Not sure.

Who else thinks so? :D

yea!
its actually the mk.12
the mk 11 is a 7.62 version
i'd actually love to see this gun.

IF anything, it can be at least a placeholder for something.

the army does use the m110 sniper system (similar to the mk.11) now, and it is going to replace the m24

but apparently, the DEV's don't want to do any work on it.

No.

Suppressed sniper will just add to the Uber Americanment we already have now.

Plus the M14 is too kool 4 skool.

EDIT: Oh, and real balanced poll.

I don't remember this gun being that good... sure it looks nice and is quite, but i remember it being a bit weak... (compared to a squad full os SAW gunners :D )

But i never have been a good sniper.

Put in the M14 and people started longing for the Mk.12.

Bring it back and they'll all whine that it doesn't have the stopping power of the M14...
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

ever since your first post you've been giving DEVs **** and im sick of it, one more cross worded thing and your gone
hey. TBH, I was given **** BY a dev.
I proposed bringing this gun back way back in march, and the dev's said NO.

i then proposed giving the army the m110. the devs said NO. again

i am posting honest suggestions, so what do you expect from a person who has had a load of shit dumped on him for his entire participation on these forums?

my take? if it is REALISTIC, then it should be IN GAME.
nothing should be left our because "we don't feel like it" or "it doesn't work right"

if it is absolutely impossible to do, so be it.

but we all remember how EVERYONE thought that dynamic lighting was "hardcoded" in bf2, but it is NOT.

Dude, I think the devs have made it pretty clear that if you want something in game, you're free to create it yourself. Otherwise, they've got their own plans and ideas. No need to be a ********* when suggesting things, it just pisses off the people you want to do the work.

Given that there can only be one DMR I'm pretty apathetic on this issue. Who gives a ****, you're gonna shoot them either way. I'd rather have powerful than pretty.

I never got to use that weapon, but I'd rather keep my M14.

Just starting to be issued, and once again, I doubt it will completely replace the M24, just the M25s and SR-25s in the sniper team observer role, but don't know if it will replace the M14 and M16/M4 SDMRs in the squad DMR role for logistics reasons (different caliber).

I hate to say it but unhashed would that not solve an issue you've had for a while?

Lets say you reduce the sniper request kits to a single kit... And create the sniper observer kit with that weapon. It would carry a load-out similar to the M-14 but with binoculars? (If they DM's don't have them.). It would satisify that need and lower the true l337 sniper kit limit as others have said while giving a side option for the spotting kit. It of course would cause problems with other forces I suppose. And while sure it would often become that kit everyone will request like the DM and sniper, it would not cause more problems due to replacing a current sniper kit yes? Again this idea is totally unhashed and I am not even suggesting it as I don't play PR. Just throwing my broken thoughts out there for anyone to stumble over and hit there head.

Sniper observers have been suggested before and won't happen, since there's not really a way to make them actually observe and adjust precision rifle fire. The DM kit just fine for the job.

Actually, I'm going to lock this poll since there is no negative option.

Just FYI,

Without the suppressor it would make a good DMR for the USMC but we're pretty busy atm.
