Teamwork in this game?
Sorry I'm new and just have a quick question. I'm thinking about installing this game because it looks like the kind of team oriented game I have been looking for. I was wondering if it really requires you to use teamwork and if the servers normally have good teamwork going or if it still can turn into Rambo fest? Thanks for any help hope to see you on the battlefield.

First of welcome to the rapidly increasing community of PR. Second of all if your here, because of teamwork then you Sir are at the right place.
Project Reality is basically a mod designed to provide you with a realistic game play like no other. This means that you will need to use teamwork to achieve your objectives and to accomplish goals. To be able to take full advantage of the great game play and what the mod has to offer you are required to be in a squad. This means that to be able to get special/limited kits such as Light AT, Heavy AT, Support, Grenadier, Marksman, Sniper, etc. you'll need to be in a squad with a specific number of players. Same goes for kits to be able to operate vehicles other than the basic light jeeps. You will need to use any means of communication (VOIP most affective) to stay in track with your fellow teammates and organize your moves to accomplish given objectives. Of course you will still find the lone-wolf Rambo once and awhile, but the majority of the time you will find great players who are looking to experience teamwork while enjoying this great mod. With the next release .7 I can assure you that teamwork will be promoted even more than it already is at present time.

Welcome to Project Reality, fellow "Wharf Rat" This place ain't no "ship of fools" heh...I could make GD references all night, so I'll quit now.
Anyway, yes you landed in the right spot for team playing. In fact with the radical changes our Devs made to vBF2, it's almost impossible to lone wolf or Rambo....and we do use VoIP, so crank it up.
Be prepared for a fairly steep learning curve though.
Take this brother and may it serve you well:

Don't feel shy asking your Squad mates for advice and help. You'll be pleasantly surprised by the results of your asking.
So don't think about it, just get it together and grab a copy now.

Indeed, welcome to the mod. There are people who don't like teamwork...they die. By people who do work as a group, enabling them to use the many assets in the game to the fullest. E.g: the squadleader, when he has an officer kit, is able to set down a rallypoint, allowing his squad-members to spawn on it when he goes down. However, to set it down, he needs three of them with him.
Conclusion: work together, and you'll do good

Then again, you may get in a squad that's run like a Police Academy film.In which case prepare for a large amount of deaths in your right hand column.
Some squads use other comms than in game VOIP and you won't be able to hear your SL.Some squads use completely foreign languages which gets a bit tricky (I don't do Finnish for example). Some squads are just schoolkid rambo units with built in Team Killers (if you're after a vehicle).I could go on,but you get the point?
No different to real life.Sometimes good, mostly bad.Enjoy the good and get beered up at all other times.

Just like any online game that touts "teamwork" it depends a lot on the server you're on and the players on the server.
But the vast majority of PRM players are team players so you've got a hell of a better chance of getting into a team working squad in PRM than you do in any other game.
Mind you , the Rambo's don't last long and get either discouraged or fall into line and play as a team member quickly.

heres a good tip : start a squad, and give it a name like "teamwork voip" or my personal favorite "no bs" that way people know you mean business. and if anyone doesnt follow orders or goofs off too much, just kick them out of your squad. you will soon have a full squad of people who are serious you will have a million times more fun.
