[Proposal] Falklands Mini-Mod

a leftover from British colonialism I'm afraid.

We gave HK back on time, there needs to be something done with the Falklands eventually. In the meantime we respect both sides who gave their lives in the conflict and separate the people from government policies.

I know it was from Colonialism but don't the Argentinans even have a different name for the Falklands? Can remember something about that on the 20th Century Battlefields program hosted by the Snows. Anyone interested at all?

A second war between UK and Argentina probably would not happen. Perhaps the basis of a fictional conflict could be Argentinian separatists vs UK? These separatists believe that the Falklands should still be part of Argentina, and UK needs to defend the island?

As Hussar said the Argentinian forces are now a smaller proffessional army as opposed to the large conscript army they had in the eigties. They are well equipped and well trained, they are still carrying out recces of the Falklands, a couple of years ago evidence was found that a recce team had gone onto the islands but no trace of them was found.

There will always be political reasons for any conflict down there but the sad thing is if they hadn't invaded they would have control of the Falklands by political means now, a lot of lives were wasted due to haste by the Junta at the time.

There are some good ideas on this thread and if anyone is interested and has any questions about the current state of the Falklnads just PM me but I cannot answer any questions about troop strengths etc.

I may do that if I get this up and running but I am going to start to learn to map and try my hand at other modding ideas. But I would really like someone with previous experiance to maybe take me under their wing?

You want to see Phil Collins in PR?

It would be pretty fun to have a Flakland/Malvinas mod. However, including it in PR would not follow the current time lines. IF people were willing to join the 'team' or help out perhaps you could go with a moden seperatist storyline?

Without the current time-line I think that the mod should stand alone (with BF2). It'd be great if it had the realistic ideas of PR. Even if it was a part of P.R the content for the classic storyline would be pretty much none existent.

The Falklands Mod for OFP is brilliantly fun and intense if anyone is interested.

Anyway, to the O.P: Good luck with your ideas.
