I've been playing PR since the last version came out and I'd like to point out a few things about it:
- Why are vehicles side-locked? Sometimes I find myself on foot and have to walk for miles, and if I find an enemy vehicle, I can't get in. Are you planning on changing this in the future?
- About the Little Bird helicopter sound when it's at full throttle, it seems to me that it's a little bit different than in reality. If you see any videos or even see one in reality, you'll see what I mean. It has 5 rotor blades, therefore it produces a distinct sound.
- If possible, why not make rotor blades hit obstacles as well?
- When a player occuppies a vehicle's seat without having the appropriate kit, for example, entering a helicopter without the pilot kit, I think that instead of dying straight away, the typical punishment system should apply (like when one goes out of map bounds).
- Is it me, or not everyone can use motorbikes? Because there was a time I was a pilot and couldn't use one.
- Finally, I noticed there are some lack of animations of drivers inside jeeps. The steering wheel moves, but not the driver. This is very odd, as this only happens in these vehicles.
OK, I know these are just small details which don't affect gameplay whatsoever, I just thought they were worth mentioning.
Nevertheless, it's a great (and the best) mod. I hope you guys keep improving it the best you can!

This is the only one worth mentioning, and i think some sorta countdown warning in your face would make sure people knew they couldn't be in a certain vehicle.Stardust wrote: - When a player occuppies a vehicle's seat without having the appropriate kit, for example, entering a helicopter without the pilot kit, I think that instead of dying straight away, the typical punishment system should apply (like when one goes out of map bounds).

Welcome to the forums Stardust
1. Will stay team-locked for the reasons pointed by Engineer.
2. No comments.
3. Is possible, but adds a lot of other problems.
4. It's not instant. You have something like 10s to switch positions and a message is displayed at the top. Not the best solution, but what we were able to come up with. We had some other ideas, but they are a lot more complicated.
5. If the dirtbike is an unlocked vehicle, but that will remain locked to the team of the first player that uses it. Same with boats (in 0.6) and ATVs.
6. Animations is a lot of work and yes we are lacking some animators in the team.

Mostly because there's two guys - Sofad and Jaymz - who are responsible for PR's sound stuff. They're very very good at what they do, and we generally leave commenting on queries about sound effects to them lol.
Your questions aside, how're you finding the mod?

As I said before (see top of this thread), it's a very good mod and by far the best I've ever played. Of course, it's very, very realistic too, and I especially like the "injury system" you have created when someone gets shot (blurry vision and coughing).
Vehicle speeds are accurate (nice job there), and the soldiers' skins and guns are very well done.
So overall, it's thumbs up!
P.S. Personally, I would like to see some new game modes, but that will come with time, I guess.

Yeah, there was an Extraction mode (get a VIP kitted guy to a certain point on the map. Everyone else has to defend him, whilst the enemy try and shoot him), but something about 0.6 killed that game mode. It should be returning at some point in the future though.
In the guide, there's also a different version of Conquest-type maps being planned, although I believe this will be taking some time to achieve.
I believe it's hoped that come v1.0, the mod will come with around 4 modes in total.
