Animators
What's this talk about lack of animators. Do PR really have no or little animators? Is it really that hard to get animators involved in the project. I'm thinking they don't have to be interested in the game, just find/hire some pros to get some nice things in the game. And BSS is huge can't you lend some guys doing other projects to PR?

Animators are rare, unfortunately. And if you do find them, they're probably busy with other mods (for other games as well). Plus, they also need to be interested in PR (don't have to be, but why animate for something you're not even interested in?).
If you give the devs your wallet, I'm sure they can find someone suitable for the job

getting devs from outside the mod is a hard thing because before you can get some one to work for a free mod in there own time as a hobby, you need to get them liking the mod first, and the chances are most animators we could go for dont even have BF2 cos the ones that do are most likley already modding for anouther mod like FH2.
In BSS there are 2 dedicated animators, one of which is on the PR team thou is mostly couped up with r/l stuff which is also a huge problem in the dev area is that alot of devs do have r/l stuff going on aswell and cant dedicated there entier life to PR
you can have a go but you will be lucky to find any one, while you are at it look for some skinners and unwrappers.

As well as looking for outside talent I'm sure we could collectively be doing more to train up interested parties from within the PR community, surely?

hence all my mapping tuts. But modeling, animating and skinning needs to be aproched from a diffrent angle than mapping is and in most cases, takes longer to get to grips with to be able to make something worth having. I have been trial and error modeling for a long time but only in the last few months been able to make some models that have been worth putting ingame[R-MOD]Masaq wrote:As well as looking for outside talent I'm sure we could collectively be doing more to train up interested parties from within the PR community, surely?
