Stats question?

I seem to be confused about the various stats topics. I have searched the forums but have become more confused, so if the has been discussed before I apologize.

The stats that come up after a map is finished is bugged? or is it just on my end.

The stats that are recorded on a server to allow players the rank up is also bugged? The 1st time I played I ranked up one level after I killed a bad guy during the game but I haven't seen this since?

I have also seen others various stat mentioned.

Standard BF2 stats don't apply to PR. You may still get awards, medals, etc, they are just not related to anything.

If you're talking about ABR (battlefieldranking.net) then there are numerous bugs etc. which I don't believe have been ironed out. Also, only certain servers support ABR.

Overall, PR stats are not to be trusted at this point.

What bugs are you talking about??? Where do you get your info from? And can you share it.

ABR is not perfect but it's ok and its the system that we will be using for the forseeable future. It works good enough.

So how does one rank up? and get weapons like a SAW?

You get the special weapons by requesting them, not by unlocking them somehow. I would advise you to read the guide/manual. The guide can be found at the top of the page, the button inbetween the forum and the stats one.

Hey Dune, I must of missed that part I read the guide but never did get the part of how to get special weapons. I know how to get kits, is it one and the same?

yes, all specialist weapons are requested. They are undependant of rank and work on a availablity system.

-certain amount of kits, according with a ceratin amount of players

I didn't mean to say they are assigned randomly, just that the awards are buggy (as announced on the ABR site) and can be assigned multiple times, etc.

Above bug, occasional issues with correctly reporting stats, etc.

I gave it a test drive and found it to be cumbersome and unreliable. Also, while I realize that some people like to see their stats, I just don't think stats are that meaningful in PR.
