Lockheed Martin is an American company, yet the UK are getting F35s, a company name or location means very little Jedi.

They will be for the Marines' light utility needs in the near future. They are the primary users of the UH-1 in US service, as the other services have for the most part phased them out.

The US Air Force still uses UH-1N's. Air Force Space Command uses them to ferry people to and from missile sites, and the 1st Helicopter Squadron at Andrews AFB uses them to transport VIPs and such around the DC area. Don't forget National Guard units. I know a lot are still stuck with old H models still.

The USA will always use US made helos but if you see the USA has so much money jsut buy some nice things with it. And hey we can, we are read to go to war with Iran right know if needed. We will also be ready to take any country now because the Newest Iraq report to congress says hat the country of Iraq is more stabible in the last year then it was before. So all British that hate the US being in Iraq Stuff it!

Despite how argumentative it might sound, he's right in most aspects.

As said the EuroCopter will be for domestic flights such as between bases, freeing up transport helos for overseas deployment.

As for Hueys, a big part of the upgrade to the Y model is more enginge power, something that the N and H models lacked and consequently had smaller carrying capacities than the new Y Model

It's my understanding that the AC on the Apache is to cool the avionics not the crew. But it does have a fan/vents like all the others do that sucks in fresh air.

Screw AC. No one joins the military to get comfortable.

The biggest money making part of this will be where the aircraft are manufactured. If its in the US then Americans get jobs, which makes congress look good. Thats why we have FN USA, HK USA, and now Eurocopter North America. Generally partner deals like Sikorsky and Eurocopter are made as more of a kickback than anything else. Eurocopter gets a good bit of cash for the design, Sikorsky hires the workers and runs the factory, and everyone spreads the wealth.
