Ok alot of people have been saying that the mod is missing alot of key weapons from each nation, as well as some key assets that Insrugents use in combat.

So here are my ideas feel free to comment on them just don't bash them:

Insurgents:

This would be a cool pickup kit as it's perfict for those times when you need to be silent and deadly. Plus it would make those of us who wan't a AKS-74U stop crying because they could go commando/Specops on the enemy still only this time as a insrugent.

Mossberg 590:

Instead of the Siga 12k witch is currently only used by Russia. How about this for the Insrugents? it has a good stopping power and has that nice modern look to it. Plus it would be perfict as it gives you that make shift I get what I can afford look for the Insurgents that they are lacking right now.

This gun is also known as the QJY 88. It's the current GPMG for the PLA and is a nasty weapon in it's own right. I would love to see this gun added to PR as it has a vary uniqe look and will stand out unlike most of the weapons we have ingame.

This is a gun that many have asked for. If you make it so you can only shoot it when laying down it would work perfictly. Do the same with the QJY88 and you would have some cool new ideas for higher caliber GPMGs that would add alot of new tactics to the mod. It makes MG killing alot more tactical to have to lay down rather than stand and shoot 24/7 like you can with most of the MGs in the mod.

Nice responces lads.. :roll: This is a suggestion forum.

What was wrong with them?.. quite sound, for the most part.

I'd love to see some new MGs in the future.

1. I doubt insurgents would ever get their hands on a val

2. American, Ins would not have.

3 & 4. Devs are trying to add GPMGS to mounted positions, didn't know about the chinese one though, be patient.

Good ideas but slightly flawed, don't feel silly for asking though.

I'd suggest you point that out in a more mature fashion. He clearly gave some thought to his suggestions, be civil and do the same back.

The VAL is a pretty specialized rifle, you don't see it often outside of the former Eastern Bloc.

Do you have any evidence of Insurgents using it? The Mossberg is a great shotgun, but not widespread enough to end up with the Insurgents, IMO. I think the Insurgents should get a pump action TOZ or something.

this forum needs a rule to make predicting moderation bannable.

1. the mods know how to do their job
2. when the first post in a thread is an un-constructive "lol threads gonna get locked" all that does is derail a potentially good thread.
3. waste of bandwidth, the admins don't pay good money so people can tell mods what to do.

in my opinion...
-if it's a good idea, say it, maybe add something on to it.
-if it's a bad idea give some constructive criticism.
-if it's been suggested let them know, but there is no need for 3 people to say the same thing.
-if you just want to point out the obvious don't post

Gunwing, Good Ideas, but there are some things to consider for each. To start, each new weapon the Devs decide to add has to be modeled, skinned, animated, sounds need to be crafted, and then the whole mess has to be imported, then coded, tested, balanced, and finalized. These guns do not seem, to me, like they would make enough of a positive impact on the mod to be worth the massive effort it would take to get them in-game. The silenced weapon is a specilized weapon that I don't think would realisticly be found in any significant quantities in the Middle East (excluding certain circumstances, eg bulk arms shipment.) The Mossberg 590 would be cool, but as mentioned before, it would not make enough of an impact to be worth the effort. The PLA MG and M240B also follow the same trend. These weapons would be cool to see in-game, but the Devs have more important things to work on. For instance, the new RPG. That kind of remake helps PR seem like less a modification of BF2 and more like a standalone game. Anyway, just my two cents.

Note: I appriciate the way you formated your post, very orderly and well thought-out. Its nice to see that you care enough about your ideas to work them into a solid proposal, unlike the majority of advice posts. (relating to weapons)

AS Val would be good for the MEC SF imo.

MEC is on the HK trip, can't see why they would use the AS Val.

Contrary to what someone said earlier, the QJY-88 General Purpose Machine Gun is currently not ingame. The Chinese GPMG is something I'd like to see in the near future. The current SAW variant of the QBZ-95 just doesn't hack it in comparison to the M249 and HK21e.

The only other suggestion worth adding is the M240, but I don't think it's as urgent as the QJY-88 as the current M249 produces satisfactory results at the moment.

Gunwing, these weapons have been suggested before, except maybe the Mossberg 590. NP, though, just please do a search in the future and bump an existing thread to add your $0.02, if there's anything to add to the subject. I am locking the thread for resuggestion. :)

As for those taking bets on what moderation will be, stow that shit. Moderators will do their jobs; report it to one of us, or just ignore it.
