B52
Alright...the US has used this thing for over 60 years. I belive it deserves a place in this mod. I know for a fact, that If we went to war with China, our B52s would be hitting targets in Bejing and such. So I ask you..Pwease put in the world's greatest bomber?

i would love to see it in, but......
the B52 is really big, it has a wingspan of 185 feet, and is 161 feet long and 41 feet high(thats huge for BF2), not to mention the payload it carries, heh you think people have had enough of the F-15E bombing them, imagine the B-52 bombing them, the B-52 can carry up to 60,000 pounds of bombs, or a mixture of bombs and air-launched cruise missiles, not to mention the size of the maps just wouldnt be able to accomodate the plane.

i would love to see it but it is just to big
1 the runway would have to be huge
2 by the time you turned youd be off the map lol
3 as soon as you got in the air you get blasted to bits by AA, so people would get pissed off and not use it.
but could you be able to call for it like you do with arty

Retreating?! Hell no, we're just attacking the other direction!

For the majority of the discussed opposition and theaters the majority of conlfict will occur in high threat environments. A little too hot for direct B-52H action. They'd probably fly long haul missions from Guam or Louisianna and fire a bunch of cruise missles well oustide the range enemy air defense forces. Kind of boring for those flying it. The B-1B on the other hand might be better suited. Would be nice to see a B-1R thrown in the mix, but that's not exactly realistic since it's nothing more than a concept and won't likely see production. Regardless it seems pretty badass though.

Reading about the B-52 I just thunked up myself an idear. There could be an air map where the U.S. fighters has to escort a B-52 against enemy fighters. If possible, the B-52 should be impervious to ramming(I know this isn't realistic but ramming would be too easy). The map would have to be huge and the B-52 pretty damn slow. The map wouldn't have to end when the B-52 bombs it's target or is shot down as this would make very short rounds. Maybe this would allow the U.S. to spawn near the opposing enemy flags or something.
What would be sweet would be a c-130 that would drop tanks, hummers, and paratroops(depending on what is put inside).

i think the desert conflict mod has a c 130 that you can drive hummers and tanks in. thing is if a vehicle is dropped by chute then there a sitting duck for anyone with an at kit or in the hummers case even a rifle. And however good a pilot you are, theres no way your going to be able to land so vehicles can drive off

well the pilot wouldnt have to land, just fly really close to the ground and have the guy in the humvee drive out the backTom#13 wrote:i think the desert conflict mod has a c 130 that you can drive hummers and tanks in. thing is if a vehicle is dropped by chute then there a sitting duck for anyone with an at kit or in the hummers case even a rifle. lol, well on a map like El Alamein it would work easily.Tom#13 wrote:oh yeah, didnt think of that. still very hard though. you probably end up hitting a tree or something
But if PR does decide to implement something like this, they would have to tweak the ways vehicle get damaged because whenever i play steel thunder and im in a tank and i make a slight bump into a tree i always take damage
Now just imagine a tank driving out the back of a fast moving C-130 and hitting that ground

I don't know. That concept works well for games set in ww2, but not a game with heat-seeking missiles(Or jets for that matter).lonelyjew wrote:Reading about the B-52 I just thunked up myself an idear.
