The whole "gear flapping around" might be possible thanks to ragdoll physics, which is one of the features in BF2. Wait and see, it might end up allowing for things which you've only dreamed of.

Silly spanglemonster, we know the gear DOES flop around. It was shown in a BF2 vid, wich was posted in this topic.
