Realoding
I don't know if this has already been discussed, but I really think the reloading has to be realistic. in this mod.
A good example of good realoading is Raven Shield ex. you shoot out all of your rounds in a magazine except one. Instead of changing mags AND cocking the gun you just change mags because a round is already chamberd.

Which in turn leads us to the question of exactly HOW do you know when there is only one round left? In real life there is no counter on the weapon and only a few are fitted with transparent mags.marto wrote:I don't know if this has already been discussed, but I really think the reloading has to be realistic. in this mod.

And THIS in turn leads ME to suggest that the ammo counter be removed from the mod, for the sake of realism.

I agree. No. of bullets in the mag left - please remove. But I think you should know how many magazines are left.BlakeJr wrote:And THIS in turn leads ME to suggest that the ammo counter be removed from the mod, for the sake of realism.(no I'm NOT joking)
Maybe a indirect counter of bullets in the magazine, ex. you press a button and you take out your mag and count the bullets left. Maybe not possible, but it would be a nice feature.

Hmmm, you military guys, how do you do this in the real world?
Do you keep count as I've heard is more or less the only way to keep track of how many rounds you have left?
The most realistic way is the one that should be implemented in the project...
Then again, you devs are probably already way ahead on this issue, aren't you?

i think proper procedure, is to discharge all your ammunition before slapping in a new mag.BlakeJr wrote:... I don't know...sjogren wrote:I agree. No. of bullets in the mag left - please remove. Also am wondering, i have heard that it's procedure, that once you have your mag in and it's chambered your supposed to through in an extra round into the mag? i think this is very F-up and untrue, but i'm not military personall so i don't know?

Guys, Marto is talking about reloading when the weapon's chamber is not empty: say if you are using an M4-series carbine (30-round magazine) and you reload before you have discharged your entire magazine, the one round that is sitting in the chamber (the one that is ready to fire) will add on to the new 30-rounds that were inserted; leaving your weapon with 31-rounds which are ready to use. Did that sound right? I haven't had much sleep lately.
Marto, don't worry about this. As I have stated earlier, I cannot divulge too much information due to OPSEC reasons, but I will tell you that the Military Advisors are already on top of this subject.

On top of the chambered round suggestion I would suggest you get realistic clips.
Many games count the rounds you have and when you reload the rounds unspent get put back in to the total rounds you have.
I would much rather if you swap a half full clip for a full clip as you use up all your clips you reload your final mag and find its only half full because you didn't empty it beforehand.
Often games simply add half clips together to make a full one but in a firefight nobody has time to eject unspent rounds from several mags and load them into one.
Am I making any sense?

Yes, you are making sense. In fact, if you're unlucky you could end up with several mags that are only partially loaded. If you're REALLY unlucky you might insert a mag with just one round in it when you would've needed a full mag...FrostPaw wrote:On top of the chambered round suggestion I would suggest you get realistic clips.

What about having tracer rounds of a different color within the last five rounds of a magazine, maybe around 15-20 for something like an M249. Certain weapons with suppressors should not have the tracers though, since what's the point of lowering your sound emission to be seen. One more thing about magazine size I'd like to know is if they'll have full capacity or a slightly decreased amount of rounds. So the magazine springs won't wear out.

If it's done in the real world I don't see why not.Tacamo wrote:What about having tracer rounds of a different color within the last five rounds of a magazine, maybe around 15-20 for something like an M249. About the XM8, is it going to be included in PR? Personally I think it looks like a cheap NERFgun. (same sort of sentiment that the M16 got when it was first issued in the mid 1960:s)

Naturally, tracer rounds would be used with support weapons.Tacamo wrote:What about having tracer rounds of a different color within the last five rounds of a magazine, maybe around 15-20 for something like an M249.
