yes they are replaced. i like the new system but now its kinda harder to take AAV out. with the tv missiles you can take out aa very easily if you hear a tone just fire where you think he might be and 60% of the time you see him and kill him, but with the new system you cant. you first need to get a laser-lock point witch takes time.. and time is what you not have when getting the tone of death

thats absolutely not good because the new aa missiles/vehicles are gonna be far supperior to the ones we have now. Almost no miss 1 sec lock-on time.Mora wrote:yes they are replaced. i like the new system but now its kinda harder to take AAV out. with the tv missiles you can take out aa very easily if you hear a tone just fire where you think he might be and 60% of the time you see him and kill him, but with the new system you cant. you first need to get a laser-lock point witch takes time.. and time is what you not have when getting the tone of death

I feel bad for you chopter guys now. I can take out a low flying chopter with a tank 2 out of 3 times. If its popping up from behind a hill, and i know where its gonna pop up, i will take it out in about 1 out of 4 times. Imagine what will happend if the chopter needs to hover and wait for a lockon for more than 1 sec, or even worse hover and manually guide the missile to my tank?
Never argue with an idiot, he will just drag you down to his level and beat you by experience

but if am not wrong a attack chopper never gos into the visual range of a tank.. or atleast tried but due the fact of the visual range/map size and also performance this is impossible. imagine the chopper to be able to shoot a missile from the right side of to the left side of kashan... that means overpowered, so instead this idea has came up

An A-10 Thunderbolt made an air-to-air will with an iron bomb... does that count?
Low flying on an exfil, passed over an Iraqi helo taking off and his gun was dry, so used all he had left. Necessity is the mother of all invention. First ever officially recorded A2A kill with an M-82.
Sketchy on the details, but you get the drift.

Modern tanks do have AA rounds, and the M1A2 does have a timed HE round but I doubt they're ever loaded into the ammo. The reality of it is that tanks shouldn't be allowed to shoot choppers with the sabot rounds. Because basically, attack chopper in reality would be able to stay far enough away not to be seen by the tank. So basically make it where the choppers can stay out of sight and still engage tanks for make the tanks unable to shoot the choppers with the main gun IMO.

Wow Wow Wo !
That will be deadly.
So, theyre will be laser guided (tv) and laser targeted mode in combat chopper. And i'm PRETTY SURE, Laser Targeted will be more dangerous than tv one... any squad leader on the field will lock AAV whit he's SOFLAM...Apache will just make a quick pass lock, fire and... forgetPR Manual 0.7 wrote:The attack-helicopter's gunner has 4 different modes to choose from:
1. First-person view in the cockpit
2. Gun-camera which controls the helicopter's gun
3. Laser-guided fire mode allows to fire the missiles and correct the
direction while the missile is in-flight (similar to the TOW-Launcher)
4. Laser-targeted fire mode (fire-and-forget) locks the missile onto a
laser target provided by ground troops or placed using alternate fire

that really does sound like HAT to me to. but wheres the laserguiding in that? and also if they did that: WHAT THE H**L ARE THEY THINKING?!?!?!?!?! its almost impossible to shoot a HAT round and get it to hit while moving and if the chopper stands still its gonna get raped by the tank. If its gonna be like that they might aswell set the spawn time on choppers to 1 sec cus thats how fast theyre gonna get shot down.Spec_Operator wrote:sure guided is tv? It sounds like so, like the HAT to me.
EDIT: I almost forgot the addition of the better AA:s. Come on i mean the choppers were unrealistically underpowered before but now...

The thing with this is that now we've reverted our attack choppers back to the 70's technology Of course new choppers use rader guided systems but the User Guided rockets are new technology that haven't been fully implemented IRL, they even state that using them for in-flight aquisition of targets is common. They are rockets linked to fibre which transmits back to a real-time human operated guidance system. I'm sure I'll like the current system fine but it sure puts the choppers back 30 years while everyone else has these nice VERY effective AA systems.
I really didn't think the current system was very bugged at all and simulated the effectivity of a Longbow system, though it wasn't perfect. It's funny to hear these guys talking about how weak choppers are and how tanks knocked them out so easily.
When we fly in TF21, we just sit behind the grunts and AA and on the flanks watching ALL of the armor get busted by my gunner. Its not even funny how easy it is on Kashan if they don't have any anti-air. You just sit behind the hills and fire rockets over the top once the inf/other tanks spot them...which everyone does anyways. In the 1+ year I've been piloting...only did I die once to a tank when I was learning. But hey I guess hydra straffing is fun maybe...far from deadly though.
