Local coalition support as class

Post by SpetsnazFox »

US forces often have allied soldiers directly under their command and as part of their troops. Because it would be too much work to create own factions for them, I think they should deserve a own class. Modern conflicts depend on the relations to the local population and so they are quite important.

Ingame I think it should be easier for them to catch insurgents civilians (better range maybe)

Examples would be:

1st
Korean Augmentation Troops to the United States Army (KATUSA)

South Korean Army members who serve directly in the US Army. They have the same equipment as regular US soldiers and have a Korean Flag on their uniform

2nd
Kurdish Peshmerga

They fight alongside American Forces in Northern Iraq. They mostly use their own rifles like AKs oder G3s

3rd
New Iraqi Army

Trained by the coalition, these guys are fighting more and more often against Insurgents and are helped by American and British soldiers

4th
Afghan National Army

same as above just in Afghanistan

would be a nice idea.

maybe put some of the New Iraqi Army on the side of the brits on Al Basrah. Have like a team of Brits+NIA work around and use the NIA to distract the insurgents or something.

only problem that could come from that is that maybe you'd have alot of Brits killing their own teamates because they have to recognize them or something.

So how exactly do you suggest to make it easier for them to capture civi's?

That makes no sense to me, better range on what?

Just a little idea:
Use a MEC light soldier model + US assault kit geometry or w/e and make them the only ones who can capture civilians. Give them an Ak47 or M16A2.

So you mean giving them a long-range knife?

wouldn't this cause problems with the comm-rose functions? the only way i see this working is an entire unit of iraqi army etc. have native voices, but the SLs and CMDs are coalition officers with english accents.

Allow insurgent civilians to do this by talking to US officers. When they do they are teamswitched and become an iraqi/afghan military police officer.

So now instead of whole teams, we're just gonna throw in random classes? It just seems like a bad solution to a not-problem. Two thumbs down from me.

I like the thoughts behind it but commo rose makes it difficult. Of course, the additional ANA or INA class could have thier own commo rose, like the crewman I believe?

Nice idea
Realistic
Aesthetically pleasing
Looks good on paper

Not neccessary.
Wouldn't enhance game play.
People could start to ask for more classes.

So personally I think it's a good idea but I don't think it will be done.
