Map Suggestion
Ok I want to suggest a map where the Insurgents or Milita are attacking a US or Brit air base, like a big one too, not a small one like Al Basrah. Maybe give the insurgents/milita BDRMs and technicals and the defenders don't have anything except maybe a HMMWV or two. I was imagining where the insurgents have to blow open the gates of a airbase or go over the walls and they have about +50% tickets and light armored vehicles and light vehicles. There are about 6-7 flags in the airbase and 2 uncapable, and make them death zones for the defenders so they can't attack, flags for the attackers with RPGs, Mosins, and PKMs. I think with razor wire on the walls and a gate that has to be destroyed the map could be really interesting but it might have to be worked a bit to keep it from being a rape for one side. Yall can post any other suggestions about it maybe and comment.
Ignore the weapon question thing. I'm just gona make a thread in general discussion.

Prolly the best suggestion I've seen in awhile.
In other words:
*Hypothetical Map*
Bagram, Afghanistan
US Army v. Taliban
Scale 4 Map
US has an Airbase and Insurgents of control of outlying villages and hills.
US must hold off attacks on a Forward Operating Base in the Hills and on the Main Airfield. They only have Mortars, .50 Cal HMMWVs and some emplaced MGs and TOWs. The compounds are like the VCP on Basrah.
Insurgents are armed with RPGs, Mortars, etc.
If the US holds off the Insurgent attack for 25 minutes, they receive tickets, 2 Blackhawk Helos, and 2 Apaches. They then go on the offensive for caches.

Rather than an airbase, maybe a palace? (Like the one on Al Basrah) Story could be similar to the v.5 Basrah but where the insurgents attacking the US-Held palace at dawn.

This is a mad sweet idea. Definitely put it on the list. An Al Basrah type map, but with the coalition main closer to the city, a little better defended, and some good approaches to the main between buildings, through tunnels and trenches.
That could be pretty frickin cool.

i think an afghan style map would work best for this as i can see a US base in afghanistan being very sparsely manned, as opposed to say a base in iraq. i dont think insurgents would try a full frontal assault with the intent to take over a raqi base because it seems to me like they got alot more soldiers/tanks/apcs it would be suicide. but a base in afghanistan i could see it happening, with maybe just hummers and gun emplacements. and surrounding mountains for the insurgents to attack from.

Ive started playing about with the map editor making some 'Upper Sangin Valley' maps. My intent is to replicate some of the green zone fighting and also i have found my map of Sangin which would be a difficult but worthwhile project. Ive got a pretty good memory of the base and town plus all my photos. The only problem with that is i want some of the buildings to be exact replicas and i dont have the models to use.
The Sangin map would consist of a British base in the form of the Sangin District Centre. There are multiple sangars, a fire support building and also a HLS where an apache could spawn a little while into the round (replresenting the delay it took for AH support to arrive)
At the end of Herrick 5 the Marines and US army conducted an OP named Op Silver which flushed out the Taliban allowing the contruction of numerous patrol bases in the town which were manned by some British C/S and ANA (Afghan National Army) These would serve as other CPs. I could probably only include a few of these due to size limitations. There were also a couple of VCPs
Insurgent (Taliban) mission could be to capture these, which IRL would be a disaster. The main DC would be well manned and contain a few LR WMIKS but due to the terrain they would have to be used wisely. I invisage a game where the TB have been gathering forces for an all out summer offensive and have to first take a patrol base IOT launch an assault on the DC itself. HOWEVER they could stealthily approach the DC and attack that. The DC has green zone to the south which allows Taliban to get within 100-200 meters of the camp unseen and there is also a river that runs through the camp which can have controlled flow alloing one to walk upstream. Possiblities are endless and it would be a massive task but hey im in the UK now...

Sangin DC fire support tower

Patrolling down the infamous 'Piperange' Insurgents have pleanty of firing points to fire on Sangar two in order to gain entry to the base...

A view from a sangar looking south into the greenzone, patrols would be contacted less than 1k into that, dense greenzone, 10ft crops, irrigation ditches. good for CQB and some bayonet fixed action.
Im making no promises but as i spent a few months there i would love to be able to play a less risky game... I hope this is the kind of thing you were thinking?

ok, i know im going to get flamed for this one,
But a night map, al basrah, only VCP and the airport, Brits must defend for 1 hour of they lose. they get everything they have except for the apache, same for insurgents.
