Engineers have no optic, the binoculars are the only way I have any way of seeing an objective or scanning rooftops from a good (safe) distance. Even so, me and my binocs leave me pretty exposed.

Seriously, the only reason I don't want the engineer split up is that on most maps it is a pain to play him already. Any map with an extended amount of distance needing to be covered on foot leaves an engineer extremely vulnerable, simply because his weapon is ineffective at the ranges a standard rifleman can engage you. By splitting his AT weapons or other gear you just make each class even less useful.

Bloodbane is talking some sense again, nice work. There is no need for extra equipment for an engineer, nor two separate specialists. The only vehicles that an engineer should be killing is a stationary one stuck, abandoned by the enemy, or one that is blocking an important position. i.e. road.

Chasing vehicles isn't a viable or sensible tactic in RL or in PR. Hopefully the lack of easy spawn locations for players not working as a team, communicating with the commander or their SL should reduce this tactic in future 0.7.

Ant-Vehicular work is best done by Mines placed before the vehicles starts stomping on your squad, anticipating its direction of travel and concealing them well, AT, other heavy vehicles, or massed small-arms depending on the target.

Engineer is a very valuable class, since the AT effectiveness against tanks is limited and mines are not limited, also -thankfully- that the crewmen can no longer repair their own vehicles.

Engineer in MG humvee, two crewmen in the tank, and another engineer in the commander MG position. Winning combination, right nickbond? ;)

So wouldn't the engineer with all the c4/slams, just be an suped up Spec ops? Unless the engineers are getting to a bridge that needs to be taken down, before the enemy gets there shouldn't demolition be left to specs?

Sorry I don't see a need for 2 engineers, Along the lines of what someone else said,
You would make engineers less useful.
While a single engineer has mines and c4 they are quite diverse, take one of those away and he is less diverse,
Why would you want a less diverse and useful engineer?
It's not going to add to teamwork and I don't see it adding to gameplay.
IMHO
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes.
A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production.
Too weird to live, and too rare to die.
