object- based gamemode

i once suggested that there should be a gamemode where one team has to destroy certain objectives like bridges,AA-guns, TOWS, caches and would gain different vehicles or spawnpoints by that (e.g: if the AA-guns and vehicles are destroyed the attackers get choppers or jets, or tanks if all other tanks are destroyed... i think this would improve the gameplay cause at first there wont be any heavy vehicles so that good cooperation of ground forces is required to succeed)
the answer from a DEV was that such a gamemode is being worked on...now in 0.7 there wont be anything like that afaik.
so i wonder if you guys are still working on it or gave it a rest?

I imagine this is easily do-able with a modification of Insurgency mode; you gotta destroy 9 caches, why not 9 TOWs? :)

A combined arms approach could be taken;

Destroy 9 AA guns on the hills so an airstrike can blow the final objective and allow flag capture.

that would be best. something like.

infantry need to destory AA so air assets can destory AT so tanks could come destory bunkers for infantry to take the flag. needs to be done in that order.

this would be awesome! but im pretty sure someone will come along and say that theres a perfect game that involves that CS. I'm just warning you.

Well, we have counter-attack in 0.7. A modified countar-attack gamemode could be objective-based.

Counter-Attack made no sense to me. It sounds like a global version of thingie... Seven Gates - Hold the bases 'cause you can't get them back?

This existed back in 0.3 and was called Single Objective. While it had many flaws, I had some great games playing it. It can be very hairy and the fighting very tooth and nail. Unfortunately sometimes a lot of players did not know what was going on, but if it comes up often enough most will understand. Another problem was C4 bombing onto the target but there are a lot of ways to protect against this, including the improved AA and weaker helicopters(compared to 0.3)

When this mode was removed the devs promised a more advances "Scenario" mode was in the works which included several objectives to attack and defend for both teams. I think "Insurgency" fell out of this project. I would, however, like to see a scenario type mode between conventional armies with only a few objectives up for grabs.

Having "Extract" make its return would be nice too.

devs promised no scoreboard and scenario mode back in 0.3 , now that we will have a "no scoreboard" in 0.7 , can we expect a scenario for 0.8 :D ?
