To ease the wait for 0.7

Post by Scarlet_Pimp »

Were all looking forward to playing 0.7 all the changes sound really intreasting and I can't wait to try them out.
To kill some time before 0.7 why not give the latest version of the insurgency mod a go.
I stopped playing after the initial release but decided to give the latest version a try, and was very pleasntly supprised, had no crashes, the weapons seem really balanced now and the people playing were all on the mic's working together.
The latest version is 2.0e and I think all PR players will like it. :)
PS i don't have any affiliation with the mod, i just like realism based games, and ins is starting to shape up like a good one.

I tried Insurgency 2.0..... it plays like a more arcade version of americas army and counterstrike in iraq.... i dont get it?

I got spawn killed 3 times in a row by an RPG...

and then just watch all my teammates running around the map, playing their own private war, with zero disregard for their virtual lives and zero teamwork mentality.

The players that did well you could clearly tell were mostly camping the one or two spots that they found were just perfect, which is the perfect counterstrike mentality.

The players that charged up were almost always killed (which is good) but there was very little/zero coordination on attacks, and the game felt like it was on repeat the whole time I was playing...

People used VOIP to ***** about when they died and to talk about their new computer.... was prety horrible experience hehe

but hey at least theres no minimap :)

Ill try it again after v0.7 sometime.... maybe I just had a bad experience I think..

I had that in PR, was commander and some SL kept responding with page up/down and commo rose, while I talked to him. He was a sniper and got killed, so I went to his position, picked up the rifle, since I saw where the fire came from and all of a sudden I hear 'omg gimme back my rifle, give it back! Its my sniper rifle!'

I picked up my Officer back and LOLd.

I agree and play it quite often. It's funny. You either really like Ins or hate it.

Don't have HL2, don't intend to buy it either. I hung around the insurgency forums a lot when it was still very early in developement, like 2 years ago. Its a cool concept, but definitely doesn't have the teamplay focus of PR.

Agree. To me it's just a bad knock off of Arma for HL2.

You should ask about our Dutch 'Korps Mariniers'.

:O

Cause they should put the dutch marines in PR, than there would finnaly be an army with few deaths

If you want to start a new faction, put a team together and propose it to the Devs.
