Need to get it going

Post by USM-ST3.Spyder »

Hey all, this is one great mod. I'm sure you like to play normal BF2 sometimes (with rank and all) but to tell you the truth you need to all load into reality servers. When i search for a reality server, I find ones with 4 people and mabye one with 14. 18 people, im sure hundreds of you have this mod. So help get it going. Fill the servers and this reality mod will become a huge success. I would love to play a 64 man reality server.

Agreed, timezones are a little tough though. Also PRMM does give you the opportunity for rank by using the ABR system.

I haven't played vanilla BF2 since I first played PRMM (about 3 months now)

Probably never will again (if I can help it), because once Armed Assualt comes out, it will provide a much better mod platform, will probably start making maps and such for that game ....

Can't wait 8-)

Edit: Didn't notice the [n't] ... heh

Same here. I played PRMM once and then I could never go back to regular BF2. The ranks were never an attraction for me but they are now available with PRMM also.

To answer the original question. We are only in the beginning of getting this mod going. Stick around and you'll see the player base grow as we do.

I enjoy strictly playing Karkand. The only reason I still play vanilla is because there are no PRRM Karkand-only servers.

MikeAP: dont you get sick of that map??

also dont you feel its a tad too generic of a map, and although its very balanced, it doesnt feel very authentic, or close to real life location.

No. I've been playing it since release.

Every time I play it I find new parts of the map which are all nearly perfect for firefights.

In addition, there's no choppers or planes for the smacktards to spam with.

Yes I find this rather lame. There are hundreds of thousands of vanilla bf2 players and only 50 PRMM players. (people who play it not who have it).

I think the rank system is to blame, it keeps the dumb asses playing vanilla and dont want to start over in a nother mod. They think rank = skill.

I find vanilla can still be fun, PRMM only makes you more dangerous in vanilla. Well I only play SF maps with my clan mates.

IMO I think this mod team isnt pushing the mod hard enough to the masses. It needs to get spammed eveywhere possible to fill up some servers. Thats the problem, empty servers when people want to play. They wont bother to load it up very often if at all because they think no one plays it. The TEST server with the map pack does not help either.

Its too early to tell but with serious progress being shown by the other big mods (FH2, POE2) PR is going to have a tough time when it actually has to compete with them.

But what do I know. Im just a player.

i still play vanilla, because I can only play PRMM late @ night when all the yanks are awake hehe, since its virtually empty at any other time.

USM also still plays normal BF2. BUT, usm is considering getting a normal PRMM server and a CO-OP PRMM server. IF anyone is interested in join or donating to USM to help go to http://www.usmsquad.com. Also if any PRMM moderators could help us aquire these servers get intouch with me.

Havent played vanilla for a very long time... would be nice to have a 32 on 32 ST battle going... that would be amazing... wonder if the armor would run out :)

To be honest, I dont like the any of the new maps.

They're wide open with armor, jets and choppers. Whoop-di-do. If I wanted to get spammed by jets and choppers every twenty seconds, I'd go to an EA Ranked server.

Hate to say it guys but, I'm with you on this one Mike.

Strike at Karkand 2 is OK.

I like them ALL - except for - "Jungle Fever" and "Heli-War" (something like that) When those two come up in the rotation - I have to say, "Sayonara".

I'll 2nd that. A few more infantry only maps would be better suited to the 'Project Reality ' tag than Heli Wars, which feels out of place.

Infantry maps are definetly the wayto go, however, its still challenging to effectively use armour for support though it can be done.

Its Maps like El al' that make armor boring,

roll across desert-get bombed
roll across desert-get bombed

I love that map, but it does get boring after a little while (especially if the other team seems to be AWOL)

I have designed a map to integrate both together rather well, but I am still trying to figure out the editor :p

i REALLY LIKE "El Alamein" but I know what you mean.........because I have never played the map with more than 6-7 people..........BUT.............IF you had enough playing it using good team work it could really be competitive because you would have BOTH AA Units, APC's; Tanks, and Troops in battle at the same time. With Two AA Vehicles and a spotter you should be able to negate/weaken either team's air superiority - then we'd have some FUN!

Yeah, I played that steel thunder map online last night for the first time, WHOAH MAN!

Was it ever cool rollin out with all those tanks at the same time. Pretty cool stuff.

The map I am trying to make will force infantry on both sides to use the armor as cover while they move to the engagement, thats good stuff too.

I remember the map 'Eagles Nest' for 42'. Cool map, moving up the hilly terrain behind a tank to avoid being capped in the head! Good times.
