When getting shot/ shooting range.

Post by vexman2k3 »

This is one thing I HATE in fps games. When a player is getting shot, it shows an animation of the player flinching and his gun pointing towards the ground (BF42, Sof2), but miraculosly the guys bullets are still aiming at whatever he is shooting at.

So I'm suggesting that if a player gets shot, and theres an animation of him shooting the ground or flinching, make it so that the player is actually doing what the animation shows.

Or you could make it that if a players arm gets shot, it goes off the gun, in the opposite direction of where the bullet came from. Same with legs, chest (pushes player backwards), head (head tilts backwards or faces the sky).

SHOOTING RANGE

Since the game has ragdoll physics, wouldn't it be possible to code a shooting range, so that when a player shoots a target it tilts backwards for a few seconds then comes back up.

This could be placed behind bases, and will be open ONLY b4 the game starts. So that the players that the first players to spawn, spawn in the shooting range, for extra practice. Then when everyone connects (players from last rd ONLY), the game itself starts.
The shooting range will be only there for 1 or 2 mins after the first player connects, this could be called "warm up" period.

ANYWAYS, BACK TO MY PHYSICS LAB.

What would be cool is that awesome idea but have just one map for a target range. You could join and just pick up weapon packs for whatever you want to shoot at.

And they could make "official" servers, just like AA :O . So you could go there and improve your accuracy rating or ranking.

And these servers will only run these kinds of maps, like shooting range (for accuracy rating), an airmap (for pilot ratings), a field with people needing treatment (for medic rating), a garage for fixing tanks/vehicles (to improve engineer rating).

And if this happens, they could make it so that whenever you go to the special servers, it takes 4 times as much hits, heals, fixes, than in a real game, to increase your ratings. This way we wouldn't have people abusing the system.

They could make it so that it takes you 4 or 5 times longer to increase your ratings, than in a longer game.

So If you use the "special" facility to practice, it will take you 5 hours to to increase your rating.

But in a normal game, it will take you only 1 hr.

Well, as a coder on the BF1942 engine (currently applying for Reality team), I'm excited to see what the BF2 engine can handle. Over the next few months, I'll be honing my coding skill so I'm set for BF2. I'm sure that there's some very talented coders out there *cough*arch*cough* who'll make great things happen.
