PR Community TS or Ventrilo

Idea I had after seeing a 100 person ventrilo server. This would be for squad leaders and such so they could communicate. I think it would be a nice thing to have since VOIP cant be modded to let SLs talk and trying to relay info can be annoying. We'd have to find some way to keep it where just the SLs on a server are in the channel though. Just post your thoughts on this, or vent/TS info if you have one we can use to try this.

To be honest, I prefer TS over Vent -- they're practically the same, I just think the Vent default voice sucks worse than the TS one.

Well technically ventrilo has a higher codex and had higher sound quality so Vent should sound more the person talking.

Vent can be run with a much higher quality than what TS can be run with. However, vent can also be set up to sound worse than TS. TS can also be set up to sound like garbage. My clan runs a TS server and we have it set to a nice good quality level. It's still lower than Ventrilo, but I prefer it to vent, because vent sounds TOO good imo.

I think many people should have a look ( and a ear) to Mumble:

* It's open source
* sound is really better ( you will be surprised)
* no more delay ( increasingly important, without minimap, to receive informations quickly, no ?)
* the overlay is embeded and highly adjustable

Mumble is the client, Murmur the server. All is available in 1.1.1 version at mumble.sourceforge.net
