Prolonging Critically Wounded State
The idea here is to give players who have been critically wounded the ability to prolong this state of being in order to give medics a larger response time. With the spawning system revolutionized, and maps becoming enormously large, taking the death and respawning at a rear area location seems like a hassle. When a player is shot, there's usually 30 or more seconds before you're officially dead. Since engagements and firefights have also extended their durations with the new weapon handling, trying to revive someone within that time period usually leads to the medic's demise as well. And trying to eliminate the opposition will usually see that the injured succumbs to his wounds as well.
Here is basically a way to help with all this by allowing a critically wounded player to lengthen his/her "revive period". The method of doing so could be simply by right clicking, doing so could extend your life by another 30 seconds. There would be a limit though, such as only being able to extend your life twice (for an average of 00:01:30+ should the player click twice).
Pros -
Gives medics a longer "response time".
Gives the victim an alternative as opposed to respawning at a back area.
Could save the team those much needed tickets.
Cons -
Should the medic die, you're going to experience one long respawn time.
During that time you remain there, it means less troops fighting, possibly giving the enemy more time to strike key CPs and/or structures.

in the few hours ive played so far in .7, i havent been revived once. but i have scene medics get gunned down immediately when tehy reach the dead guy.
but theyre still useful. my field dressings seem to do NOTHING when i get hit, so im always off looking for a medic

Maybe they could implement it so the critically wounded soldier can only press the right mouse once to extend his time before he dies and it would randomly extend his time between 1-30 seconds to simulate how badly his wounds are.Even better if the bf2 engine could let him extend his down time by a certain amount depending on what type of weapon he was killed by, such as having more down time when he is shot by a assault rifle or pistol and would have a shorter down time when he is shot by a larger caliber weapon to simulate bleeding out faster by more severe wounds.

I have gotten revived and meded on regular basis, but I find myself constantly being left behind as I watch the medic zapping my used-to-be-revivable-a-moment-ago body, since they have a hard time finding you now or are just plain late, because there's so much comms going on, they can't reach everyone.

Does one recall the small blue-like text above the person that had a medic symbol on it before indicating that soldier needed 'revived?' Why not bring it back. I am sure its 'Unrealistic' but in a way it is very realistic. I mean think about it. If I were laying on the ground wounded beyond belief and knew there was someone looking for me I would be screaming my head off for help. The blue marker and flashy nature of the nametag would in turn signify that would it not? So my suggestion for the fix is return that if it was removed, or make nametags of wounded soldiers draw at longer distances to show him.

.7 has definitely hurt medics and reviving, I think mostly because of no minimap. This seems like a good way to give medics a chance, although I don't know how much I'd really use it. I think that if you're in a good squad that squad gets up an RP this would be pretty useless, but I agree that it would be better than having to walk across half of quinling to get back to village.

+1 for this idea
I like the thought of randomizing it a lil more though.
I think the markers are a good idea with the right restrctions i.e. you can't see them through buildings and they only work up close to identify the right body. IRL you'll be able to see the guys lips move, as a medic you can tell who you should try to revive and who you should give up on, since we can't have that visual assessment in 0.7 a marker would do.
No minimap is good methinks cos now medics have to act more like a medic in respects to keeping an eye on who's where, just in case.
Plus add the fact that before a medic would need to stop and shoot to clear around the body, the new aim deviation makes that very hard now and nigh on impossible with only 30 seconds.
Random/weapon dependant Clickable extra wounded time (simulating stemming the flow of blood?) anything from 10 seconds to an extra 40 or something. I'd also like to see more shouts available when wounded, 2 isnt enough. And a small close range marker for wounded bodies (youd recognise your squadmates irl)
That'd be good
