Handheld Map

Kinda hard to locate your position isn't it? The New 0.7 took out the minimap. I think it would be a great idea to add a handheld map to every kit so you can at least attempt to find your position and relay it to other squad leaders, team members, commander, etc.

i think instead f the minimap altogether we should have a map.. on it is your location


lets say squad leaders have to update every few mins on the map where their squad is. this way friendly fire won't happen. they could just appear as banners on that map . thats a bit more realistic

So currently there is no minimap, there is a constantly updated map you can get to using caps lock or M.

As far as updating position, I don't think that's possible within the BF2 engine. But hey, maybe. Itll definitely be a pain though.

I think its hardcoded, but just press M there is a delay so just think about that as you where taking up your map. :)

I personally like the minimap being removed. It cleans up the screen, and makes it more realistic, as when i'm working around i don't have a GPS in the top right of my eye.

well if you wanted a map that you held like a gun, couldnt you just make it so that you had a map like thing in you hand and when you right clicked to zoom the aim point would be replaced with a map to simulate looking at the map, dont see why it wouldnt work.
