I hate that all of this work to "simulate" stuff is done invisibly.. it just becomes frustrating.

Once we start getting OPORDERS and establishing left and right limits for each squad I would be fine having the maps gone. But it's kinda frustrating having your team scattered all over the friggin map and not knowing if they are enemy or friendly.

But I love PR anyway 8)

Ahhh, well a good commander should be keeping squads in reasonably defined areas anyways, and informing you where your friendly squads are.

Then if you know you've got friendly units nearby, you hold your fire long enough to work out who it is!

Give it time and slowly adapt your gameplay - you'll get used to it :)

"That's how it starts, Mas, with that warm happy feeling inside. Pretty soon you're rocking in the corner, a full grown dog addict, wondering where your next St Bernand is coming from..." - IAJTHOMAS
"Did they say what he's angry about?" asked Annette Mitchell, 77, of the district, stranded after seeing a double feature of "Piranha 3D" and "The Last Exorcism." - Washington Post

But a thing I noticed before is it took a second longer for the map to enlarge from the minimap if you had the setting in the options "map rotation follows player", as it would rotate as it enlarged. But if you had it set to "static map" it would pop out instantly. But now with 0.7 it is still taking that extra second longer to open regardless of your setting.

What you do, is this mate:

1.) Hold down your VoIP button and say the following:
2.) "Tangos spotted. Bearing ??? from my location. Near the ????

Where ??? is, you say the three digits where they're spotted; if no digits are on the compass at that point, ESTIMATE.

The italics are optional, if there are any remarkable features near them - A log in a log-less forest, for instance... Or a building.

My squads are constantly full of chatter.
Taking fire, Bearing East!
Sniper spotted! Bearing 3-2-5 from the tower! Behind the rock!

if u squad dosnt all speak one language, don't be in that squad. normally when i join a squad and they are speaking another language i say hello and the all thankfully start speaking English, if not then theres no need for me to be in there squad because i cant understand them and would be a negative influence to the squad rather than a good.

also IIRC SL's can spot to simulate there VoIP to other SL's and commander, then other SL's can relay that to spot to there squad if needed.

but tell me diff in telling them over voip & tellng them with the keyboard? both are communications.
and btw, havent you ever been in a squad & ifyou need to leave you have to create ur own, and then ur by yourself, or worse others have no mic, & if you lucky one or 2 might join, no kits etc.

Only your squad memebers hear you, not the entire team. This is realistic, squad cohesion is a pain in the arse irl and relaying info concerning enemy locations is not as easy as pressing Q+LM irl either. If you had ANY military experience you would know this, stop whining and adapt!

"The men inside (the APC) might have been UN but they were playing by a completely different set of rules. They were Swedes; in terms of individual intelligence, integrity and single-mindedness I was to find them among the most impressive soldiers I had ever encountered. In Vares their moment had come."

I hope the minimap returns next release. Squad cohesion (with the spawn system too) is VERY difficult on public servers.
I dont think so, I did not experimented it, maybe first days people are disorioented, not in my case. People must to change "m" key to another key.
The map delay I dont like too, yes I tougth can be simmulating you take GPS from pocket but ...(I will try explain me) before when you push the map the map starts small upper and finally map had normal size, Now this effect has been removed. This effect could simmulating that you take GPS from you pocket too. I dont like push button and sensation that you did not push it, it does not looks esthetic.

Ooooh dear. Do I have to spell this out? :)

DON'T JOIN SQUADS THAT DON'T SPEAK YOUR LANGUAGE

Why use VoIP over Keyboard? Because it's quicker and you can still move/shoot when using voip!

Better find another server then. They're not gonna dumb it down and make it unrealistic. ;)

I am sympathetic towards your plight. I was stressing how ridiculous it is to have to go to such extreme lengths to get a good game.

I know what you're saying :) .

I am very dependent on the mini map and i have to say it is a bit of work stopping and "pulling out" the map to locate your sqd. But as many have posted before me, give it time and you'll get used to it. Other wise there is always vBF2. hehehe.

I LOVE YOU PRMM...if only i could play more :(
