New maps, new vehicles, and new guns are great and all but, where did all the combat go?

The .7 patch added some things I liked, the jdam for example is awesome, but there are some things i miss now that i never realised i used so much! Here is a list of things I miss.

-Squad Leader Spawns: "Ok we can place a rally in 30 minutes when i get to you."

-Vehicle spawns: APC especially, it is a vehicle used for transporting PEOPLE.

-minimap: it might be a tad unrealistic and a lesser inconvienience but, its just annoying pulling up my map every 5 seconds.

-WTH is with the nvg on bi ming? its like generation 1 quality! i would prefer you just take the nvg from SF.

-30 sec turret "warm-up": you are mixing your messages.. you want reality so you get rid of SL spawning, yet the tank turret has to warm up? at least shorten it to 10-15 seconds so its like you are climbing in or something like that.

Other than that Good work on the mod, but plz give a hotfix or patch within the next 4 weeks..

If you agree or would like to add anything plz post.

PS. i REALLY like the taxi engine

I think they should add the minimap back because with it at least you could see where your squad memebers were and group up with them easily. I'm not sure about adding back SL spawns, I think they could at least add in more transports in on maps or have them spawn in more frequently so people could get to the frontlines quicker. Either that or have rally points be placed down with less people needed (as suggested in another thread).

I'm fine with the other elements of the mod however so far and enjoying it.

Planes should not have a warm up if they need to taxi anyway...

I love all the new things about .7 but I have to admit I miss the minimap and the SL spawns, vehical spawns I can live without though

it's actually to discourage solo tankers first, reality seconds. If it was soley for realism purposes than, ermmmmm it would actually be so much longer than that.

Think about it mate,

it's not as simple as going from one seat to another. I'm sure one of the several RL tankers on these forums will attest to that.

Minimap is gone and Im glad. You shouldnt be pulling it up every 5 seconds anyway.

Combat is MUCH better now than it was. Those hunkered down have the drop on someone running out into the open, which is how it should be. I was on EJOD, ona rooftop, and just picked of guys because when theyd shoot at me, it was right after sprinting into the street. Thats great.

SL Spawn... ummm, dont die, stick with your SL, and get an RP down fast. If not, pay the consequences. Not to be a ****, but it makes for much better firefights. Want to win a fight? Easier now than it was. Before you HAD to get the SL, or the rest would just spawn on him. Now it actually matters that you ALL stay alive, rather than just having the SL stay back and be a movable spawn for his squad.

And really, asking for a hotfix and giving a deadline request is just rude. They worked so hard on this, the amount of testing and work in general was amazing. Let them get to things when they get to them. Trust me, they are aware of problems and Im sure they are working to get them solved as soon as possible, but keep in mind that they DO have lives outside PR

I believe that vanilla BF2 still has a mini map if you really,really,really miss it.(so does 0.613)

As squad leader I was getting bored with having squaddies squeezing out of my arse anyway.

And now the tanks can't be whored by soloists.

I think the real question we need to be asking ourselves is:

"Why is Wasteland sitting in a tiny internet cafe in a Nicaraguan fishing village reading the rants of somebody who doesn't seem to get that realism doesn't always correlate with a fun arcade-like experience?"
